Re: power supply

Wouldn't it be easier and less case-warming to go with just a dual 15 V PSU and regulate down to dual 12 V as needed with a little daughter board on the module itself?

Re: VCO Troubleshooting SLMS MKII

Maybe you might try calibrating the VCOs the other way round. Start with 3V and set to 800 Hz and the DECREASE the voltage to check for correct intervals. I had similar problems with my Oakley VCO and this switch actually happend to provide correct tuning within minutes. Also you can try (as describ...

Re: Something New from Doc Sketchy

I wanna sell a 5U one -- they are so pretty, and soooo much easier to build (plus I can build the whole thing rather than just the guts). 15_Finished_QPG.jpeg I just have to get my hands on the money and need to look for customs regulation. Then i would very much like to get one of those (with a bl...

However, it may be prudent that if you do want something and you live in the EU, then maybe now is the time to order. Already done ;) After spending quite a lot of money i must compliment you on great communication, fast delivery and (again) excellent quality. Can't wait to start building but first...

Working on this right now but the air dryer for my paint booth is broken and needs to be fixed. That is holding up making panels
Please let me know when you finish this awesome project. I am very interested in this and if you are realeasing it to the public buying a PCB and an panel.

Re: Oakley Eurorack Sequence synced with a pattern sequencer

As far as i know you can use a LFO as clock source. Once the cycle crosses the threshhold of the clock input it should move the sequencer one step forword. For more complexicty one can put a clock divider in beetween LFO and sequencer. And the fancy pants among us might try this: :hyper: https://cir...

I would also be very interested in one or two PCB sets and possibly a front panel I think I need to keep them together, I don't want to have a panel leftover with no pcbs, but if you want the gerbers or eagle file I can send it to you. That would actually be great ^^ Just PM me and we can discuss t...

I consider this first SMD build as success. :) Time to work out panel art and order fixed PCBs. Will post pictures when done. If anyone interested in spares, please ask. Re: Balanced TRS Output module in 5U?

Another bulit-in solution could be a THAT 1646 line driver IC which you can put at the very end of the signal chain. You would of course need 2 of them but that is not a problem. DSL-man is offering an ready made PCB which one can stuff easily behind a 1U panel and it offers a TRS connector by defau...

No. Output modules are a waste of money and rack space, DI Boxes attenuate the signal and lower the snr. It would be worth investing £20 in a cable tester or a bit more on a DMM.
Now you are making me curious^^ How would you connect am modular synth to the outside world?

Re: Synthesizers, mixers (SSL SIX), balanced/unbalanced

Wouldn't it be easier and less sources of error to just use some sort of output module (ready-made or DIY) or even a DI Box for the connection rather then tinkering arround with cabels that might not work as expected?

Re: Building up components inventory - how to do DIY without always buying full kits???

In terms of resistors you can buy certain values like 1k, 10k and 100k in bulk as you are running into these in basicly every project. Trimpots and presets of certain values are also quite common. And IC sockets and standard ICs like TL07x.

Yeah, you can tap the output either from the FFB output or from the mixer output. I don't think it matters too much which one you choose. I didn't even use a multiple, just a Y-splitter like this one: I was just wondering if it is possible to modify the dotcom ffb to integrate the feedback path int...
