Re: Behringer ARP 2500 modules

It seems that they got rid of a few features: 1004-T (VCO) appears to be missing some CV inputs and individual outputs. 1036 (S&H/Random) is missing clock out. 1047 (Filter/Resonator) appears to be missing the Final Q section and some other stuff. Also, the 1005 (Modamp) and 1006 (Filtamp) are missi...

Re: Frac Rack DIY

@soup - lovely builds! Great layouts, particularly on the Stroh modules... I sometimes regret not going with bananas, but at this point it would just be a huge undertaking. Sometimes it is also good having something "different" from my banana systems... But another key reason for me is the UX of hav...

The knobs on those sequencer modules look ridiculously close. Unusable w/o tweezers close.
Were you eavesdropping on my text messages from this morning?

The form factor (particularly on those modules) is a huge turn-off for me.

I think the CAD drawing only came with the panel-less kits.

I got one of the last two kits with panel, and there was no CAD drawing.

Re: blacet from the backlog

Still waiting for my "legacy" VCO kit to ship. I'm guessing it is rev.B... looks like rev.B came out in Feb 2014.

Thought about just getting a PCB/panel set, but there was just something really special about assembling one of John's kits...

A few are still proprietary, including most of the Matthew Davidson ones. https://github.com/stretta/miniwave-roms Very cool! :tu: Looks like he published them to github a few months after I got mine. The data for other ROMs is available. A few are still proprietary, including most of the Matthew Davidson ones. But yeah, there's still a bunch of others that are available online. Re: MiniWave Help

Ah, it’s the regular Wiard 300 wogglebug. Yeah, I think the Socket Rocket is done - popped it out and back in, and the same result; the first 8 are out. At least I got the last 8 still. Anybody making new ROMs? This doesn't definitively mean the problem is with the ROM, which is why I suggested try...

Re: MiniWave Help

Yeah, having lots of fun - just a simple patch of running a sawtooth in and letting a clock-synced woggle bug step or woggle cv sweep the waves is providing hours of endless fun! I think the Socket Rocket is a lost cause though - the first eight banks not working, or perhaps I am not understanding ...

Re: blacet from the backlog

I have Rev A 2100s which is a single board wired to the jacks and switches. The image with the 2 slide switches is a Rev B which is complete different. They are the same circuit, but rev.B is spread out over 3 PCBs (and, consequently, different panel components & hardware). My old manual is no-Rev, ...

I don't know what synthcube is selling. The picture of the ones they have is different than the diagram they have of one. What makes it even weirder is the ones I have don't match either. I think I have the version right before the last version (which I THINK is the one the diagram is of). So you m...

Re: blacet from the backlog

was looking at the VCO panel/board combos on synthcube (couldn’t afford the whole kit) and was wondering if there were any parts rarities with these kits, tempcos or whatever that would make it hard to complete if i was sourcing my own parts. Tempco is available from Synthcube. 2N4391 (TO-18) is ou...

Re: Long envelopes in Tides

Big difference indeed. Noob question, how do you get it to do two minutes? I assume you have a Tides v2? (I don't; only a v1) Per the v2 manual: 3 frequency ranges for the main frequency knob: low (2 minutes to 2 Hz), medium (0.125 Hz to 32 Hz), high (8 Hz to 2kHz). This range can be widened by app...

Unless you're concerned about your synth being mistaken for agricultural equipment, "Thresh." Is probably the way to go.

blacet oscillators are based on designs from old test radios.
Not sure where this info comes from; they're an adaptation of an iteration of a popular design by Terry Michael:

Re: MiniWave Help

For the Socket Rocket, I'd suggest visually inspecting it and ensuring that all pins are properly seated in the socket. Maybe even take it out, and put it back in to be sure.

I fixed one a couple of months back with a "dead" Socket Rocket - one row of pins wasn't seated right in the socket!

Re: PROGUE - Analog mono synth

Looks neat! Depending on price, I'd be interested in a PCB with SMT parts pre-soldered.

The panel + enclosure looks way nicer than what I'd expect for a PCB panel + Hammond enclosure. So, while a custom one would be awesome, I'd also be totally happy with what you're doing now.

Re: Recommendation for cheap & accurate multimeter to use with Eurorack format

Fluke meters are always great, but they may be above your price range. I think the basic one is in the $40-50 range. You might find it helpful to get one that can also measure frequency, typically 'Hz' on the panel. IIRC the basic Fluke one has that. You will want to make your own cable as Pelsea no...

960 by itself is useful.
+1

The only add-ons I'd consider checking out before owning a 960 are the sequential switch and a quantizer. But neither are necessary to have at first.

Great news, and awesome promotion! I have 7 Blacet VCOs... they're really good. Blacet stuff is always a joy to build, too. Now the question is... do I want to build another?
