Re: Behringer System 55

I don't get warm with the 921 b, it's always out of tune....the 921 VC is much better I like the sound of the Behringer 921b pretty much, but tuning seems indeed to drift after some time. I've got the preliminary impression all 921b's drift somewhat together. Will investigate further and compare to...

Hi, the first pair of 914 fixed filter bank images are fine, but the second pair of image links seem to be broken.
At the moment there is only one pair of 914 FB images.. will post some more.

I hope you will continue to add to your photos on your site. I just added photos for the 921B: http://sonectron.nl/?page_id=23 Certainly understand it feels less important than using them, Haha.. it's been a very busy time. I haven't been in the studio that much this last month. But I'll try to add...

I just received 8x 921b too.. on first listening they sound delicious. The system is almost ready now, apart from the 960 and possible unannounced future modules. The experimenting can really start of.

Re: Behringer System 55

Has somebody already compared the filter and oscillator with Model D's? In absence of the 921B's (next week?!) I'm using the osc's of two Model D's as sources for the System 55. The various combinations of Model-D's filter and 914 sound spectacular. Didn't really do a comparison, the sound was too ...

Re: Behringer System 55

In the meantime I received more modules and a decent case to give the growing System 55 a nice home (Doepfer monster). Didn't have too much time these last weeks, but this evening had some good time with the two new 923's, 914 and 904A/B. I like the 914 very much. It has its own sound. Different fro...

Re: Behringer System 55

Today the replacement 923 filters came in. I didn't have too much time to do testing. Unfortunately it didn't sound good. Problem with the HP-filter is about the same compared to the first one. Jump/wobble with the LP-filter is worse. There's not only this behaviour when initially closing the filter...

Re: Behringer System 55

Are these modules built for the lower 1.5v audio levels like the original? Just curious if the VCAs, mixers, VCF are a good fit for modern eurorack levels. I just added the official spec sheets with impedances and in/out voltage ranges etc. You might want to take a look at them: http://sonectron.nl...

Wouldn't mind photos of these also. Unlike Doepfer, Behringer doesn't seem to find this necessary.

Re: Behringer System 55

Either of the last two words is a typo. 911=EG, 902=VCA Yep, typo. EG. What was wrong with the original? See my earlier post: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3256307#p3256307 Does the 902 VCA panel really only attach .. Looks like they're super sturdy! PCB attached by 5 blind stud...

My case has been returned to the dealer and in repair service at the moment.
How did it work out for you in the end?
It was swiftly repaired by Doepfer and returned by the dealer (Thomann). Worked perfectly every since. I just bought an identical second Doepfer case last week.

Are they analog or digital? Behringer really likes digital EGs. Still hoping you'll share some PCB pics of your modules. Absolutely analog. Will post photos of PCB later. I recalibrated my Mos-Lab EG's with help of the Moog System 55 service manual. Too bad on one of them the trimmer doesn't get th...

Re: Behringer System 55

Then it's not a System 55 clone as they claim, since they only ever had the CP3A mixers. They can't get their story straight with this "replica" business, lol... Guess they're following the Moog reissue of System IIIp. Sort of. I read at the Moog sales page: "IIIp has a 100% discrete design. There ...

Re: Behringer System 55

While probing the Behringer modulars and especially looking at the EG's, I noticed one of my 2 MosLab EG's totally messes up its timings and voltage rates. Have to contact Seb about that. I also put the 4 working Behringer 911 EG's under the scope and they are pretty consistently calibrated. Well do...

Too bad they've done CP3A mixer. That's a typical opamp mixer. CP3 is discrete.
Signal path of the Behringer mixer is totally discreet. No IC's used and only passive attenuators.

Re: Behringer System 55

I built a preliminary System 55 with the first 6 available modules. I found some problems with the 923 filters (manual LP/HP). Just before fully opening the LP, there's a sudden jump in cut-off frequency to full open. Also, there seems to be some weird wobbling/fluctuating of the sound before this j...
