Re: Vacuform - Vacuum tube diode SVF
Well, if you install a power jack instead of a blind cap in the upper right location next to the resonance pot, there is still the option to power it from an external AC/DC adapter.

There is an equivalent brick with lower leakage is the GSM60B15-P1J. Thanks! If I can't find another workaround I might try to replace the brick. "getting a small electric shock" Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm getting zapped everytime I touch the case. But when plugged in, you can definitely...

Thanks Graham for your answer. The external switching PSU cable has an earth connection: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/42244_images_1.jpg But indeed nor the case chassis neither the 0V is earthed. I better understand the floating system and how it could become a safety hazard, looking a...

I would check for AC volts between the case and ground on an electric outlet. I don't read much but I am not properly equipped to measure AC. Probably stray voltage. Do not use this case until you can determine what the source is. It’s a safety hazard! Really? Since the adaptor 220V AC -> 15V DC is...

I have a newish MacBook Pro, late 2018,(IG not so new anymore) and there has always been this wierd feeling on the surfaces, kinda feels like a small bit of electricity flowing, and as my finger tips slide across the surface they are "attracted" and experience a bit of resistance to the physical mo...

Strange electric/magnetic feeling when touching faceplates?
Hi, I bought myself a new skiff case with built-in PSU like this one: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/42244_16958_eowave_3u_skiff_104hp_incl_psu_4_1.jpg Whenever I connect it's AC/DC 15V adaptor (a MEAN WELL GST60A15-P1J included in the box) to the case, I can feel a very unpleasant sensa...

If you are ordering from Thonk, this is what I use: https://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/ribbon-cable-24awg/
My build is displayed page 31. This was my very first DIY module build.
Just don't get PJ302M jack like I did, they don't fit in the case. I had to replace them with something else.

Yes you can solder components on the back of the board, just make sure the pins match expected holes. I've done that a few times, AFAIR film and electrolytic capacitors I ordered which packages didn't fit on the boards. That being said, the price of common transistors like 2N3906/2N3904 is ~0.05€ if...

Same as @infinitemachinery. Use very little solder on a small tip (I am using 578-ETK). Carefully place the IC and solder a first corner. Before going on with another corner make sure the pins are perfectly aligned. then I proceed one pin at a time, very few solder, put the iron tip on a pin and dra...

if you went for smallbear, I hope you didn't follow the link by @TheMentat that was pointing at 16mm linear & audio tapers. The sample & hold module needs a reverse audio taper which is this link instead.
For the 9mm mixer potentiometers, his link was ok.
What did you choose as knobs?
