Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

Yeah I do a lot of stripboard stuff and adapt MFOS, etc so the extra depth is handy. Plus it's stable and less likely to move, a less deep case gets stacked on top of it, and so on...

Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

Did some Kicad work and send off to have boards made for the CGS quad logic gate (minus LEDs and with 2n3904 isntead of BC547), error in the Digikey library pin assigment for the 2N3904 that I should have caught but didn't, so I have to bend the #2 and #3 legs around on all 4 transistors. Oh well, s...

2/3rds of a Yusynth Clock Divider. Went together pretty quickly in spite of several cognitive errors. Had to add a 100nF cap on each of the outputs to tame some weird periodic spikes.

Re: Passive Patchbay ?

My breakout box has evolved over time. Each side is a passive mult with 1/8", 1/4", BNC, RCA and banana jack/binding posts for signal and ground. Each side connects as L and R into the center stereo 1/8", 1/4", but the switch can connect the two sides together into the same mono channel (making the ...

Another 2x84hp case, I'm really going to rearrange all my modules while I have the space before I build more...just like I thought I was going to the last case I built. Finally made a jig for cutting/drilling the vector rail angle brackets on the CNC, which made setup a lot easier. Busboards designe...

Made a dual Lag Processor on stripboard directly taken from Bernardi's schematic (http://www.bernacomp.com/elec/og2/og2_lag.html) but made it with a TL074 so I could have two in 6hp. (I added bypass caps to the power rails after the top pic was taken, don't worry...). Bottom pic is oscilloscope show...

It doesn't get more basic than this. Six passive attenuators. Inputs are normalled so I can have multiple outs of the same signal at different levels. No PCB just direct wiring. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/42743_atten03_1.jpg https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/42743_atten04_1....

Anybody have good ideas about protecting the trigger in against accidental connections higher than 5V? The build guide says: "You should only ever use 5v trigger pulses or gate signals. Anything higher than 5v will cause unwanted effects and may damage the circuit." So should I add a 5.1V zener to p...

Finished the VCO yesterday (along with the ladder filter), very easy build with no surprises, excellent design. My cases are deep so I should have mounted the trim pots on the back which would have made aligning jack & pot heights easier, but it still went together well. I was able to use up a coupl...

Great idea! I'll have to consider that on other "giant board, few controls" type projects. yes, the led reflects the mix out. Maybe not that useful but I just love leds! The Barton vca/mix is great! Quick to build and easy to setup. I've also placed one on the back of a buchla 194 to have a vca on e...

Thanks! I was trying to keep it clean and obvious as to the functions. I kind of hate those knobs which are cheap ones that came with the knurled shaft pots I bought on Amazon. Yeah, Panel wiring isn't fun. I've done a few lately where I used stripboard as a hybrid control PCB but I really need to buckle down and learn Kicad for doing the layout (I could use Rhino CAD which I have now and is great for industrial design, but it would be nice to do real PCB schematics/routin...
