Re: Any compact mixer like this, but not Behringer?

RCF F12 looks interesting imo but doesn't meet your size requirement and the smaller units from that series don't meet the spec sheet..

Zoom Livetrak L8 is a different approach that might be interesting (e.g. feature packed for its size).

Re: random*source love

I'd pick & mix and swap in more R*S as you go along. Get some of the truly original stuff like resonant eq from the get go but for instance Maths is a no brainer in terms of $ but its still inspired by the DUSG. Another example: R*S oscs are brilliant but I'd start with more affordable ones that are...

I'd get a pro 19" deck (quick browse on the local used goods marketplace showed some very good but cheap Marantz options).

AND DON"T BELIEVE A WORD OF THE HYDRA SYNTH HYPE!!! I will never own one....I heard they used animals in there preliminary prototype testing.....shameful!!! Monkeys to be precise (to program the presets).  I did the cymbals. :hihi: P.s. Not that it really matters, but the Pro 2 also is...

Re: Para / Poly synth to compliment Euro set up...OB6, Pro 3, P12 experience?

There's truth in the Baboons words above, but I also feel that deep experience can be a disadvantage when recommending to others. A personal case in point: I get better sounding results with my Blofeld than I do with Hydrasynth. The Hydraynth is such a joy to use, even the handful of times I played ...

Re: Para / Poly synth to compliment Euro set up...OB6, Pro 3, P12 experience?

P12 is a powerhouse, love it. Pro2 and 3 are great as well. And an OB6 does sound great. (I'm still holding out for Behringer to release their Oberheim clone in terms of $$ tbh..) I think a Rev2 16 voice will also give you a lot of mileage. Personally love the sound of the aforementioned Matriarch (...

Put a computer wrist rest pad (foam or gel) in front of it-probably need a board or something to raise it above height of base case.

^^^ Can't say whether it's a good thing or a bad thing that that sound popped into my head right as I read that sentence. Lots of great sounds from the 16-bit era! It strikes me that with the right custom ROM and controller interface, you could make a pretty neat oscillator out of any of the 8- or ...

Re: Arturia PolyMatrix / PolyBrute coming?

I always found the left side placement of "touché"s weird. On stringed instruments the right hand normally manages dynamics/articulations and it makes sense because this is where the greatest sensitivity is required. Lefty power! Ned Flanders approves! https://i.pinimg.com/originals/38/a8/1c/38a81c...

Re: Behringer Pro 800, Prophet 600 clone

I see B added noise and probably other odds and ends I've not spotted so that's a plus. Wonder if to duplicate the original sound they will go for the relatively low number of values the parameters had and the software generated straight linear envelopes without many possible values. I would think ...

So, the included 'instruments' are stunted (e.g. NOT full) versions. To me that rules our the Maschine+ as a viable choice. But then again, who knows what will happen with firmware upsdates (...or hacks). The Maschine+ can also act like a Maschine controller, so you can use it that way and access e...

Well, I was watching all PolyBrute videos and I don't like how it sounds in practically any of them, quite the opposite of the Super 6, which I liked in all the ones I've seen. The same thing happened to me with the Medusa. It is more than a coincidence that an instrument you do not like in any vid...

P.p.s. If there are some quickstart guides to Axoloti coding and/or template sharing pages plz do share, the Axoloti site is a bit of a jungle to the uninitiated.
I learned most from the demo and tutorial projects which are included in the software under File -> Library -> factory :)
