Re: Creative module for field recordings manipulation ?

Depending on your style of music but something like Clouds is great for ambient or smeary sounds, morphogene or qu bit nebulae are great for live manipulations or for a cheaper option go with phonogene. nice filters are great and essential. What sort of thing are you hoping to achieve as just about ...

Re: Biggest reasons you sell your gear?

For me:

1.Upgrade

2.the style of what I'm doing has changed and things don't fit

3.another module will do it better or take up less space (I keep it to one case)

4.new perspective, some times having something presented in a new way can open up new ways of thinking.

Seems to get a lot of negative comments on here but I like Dark Matter by Bastl I like the tone controls and the feedback loop can be loads of fun, especially with the built in envelope follower.

Just because you like the Cs-L (awesome oscillator) why not go for the Instruo tràigh as it would pair nicely has a built in mixer and is a ladder filter based on classic east coast filters.

Just wanted to chine in that x1l3 modules are great and using some filtering can get more subtle glitchy noises than are in a lot of the demos.

Also surprised that no one mentioned folktek matter as in the demo bids he even references his live of the clicks and cuts series on mille plateaux.

I would recommend the Future sound systems FIL1 less as a drum module more a weird envelpe or modulator (although it does make a nice sub bass kick which you can then use the + out to trigger/envelope other noisier modules).

Also second the addition of some crazy filters and more noise sources

A mult would just allow you to take one signal and route it to multiple locations. There are 2 types to choose from which is passive and buffered. Passive is unpowered and so you will experience a slight drop in the signal so if using as pitch for multiple oscillators the tracking could be off but w...

The system looks fine but with only one plaits the harmonaig seems like a really expensive keyboard. For the price of the harmonaig you could get a arturia keystep, a vca (never have enough) and another voice module (possibly a more straight forward oscillator). Even at a push you could get a mult a...

As Shledge said

The main difference is on affects the amplitude of the input the other removes frequencies.

I have used filters to gate a sound much like a VCA.

Hi

I was going to try and sort out an order for some PCB's for some paper circuits over the weekend, I was going to get a complete rollz for myself and master brando, madame brasser and mr grassi.

If any one in EU wants some let me know and we can see what we can sort out.

The mussels and lions track was a recording on my phone (all i had with me at the time) of a large group of sealions in lindasfarne that you could get near by walking across a mussel bed.

Some noise and bad field recordings

Be gentle this is the first stuff I have put out in public for about 20 years but wanted to share it and hopefully get some feedback. Its a mixture of modular noise and field recordings. Really inspired by Kjostad and really loved the idea of presenting the landscape as something more chaotic and ra...

Repairing modules

Hi Long story short I have a bunch of modules that were damaged from the 12+ terminal being crossed with the 5v terminal. The ones with surface mount components I have no hope of repairing but I have a couple that I feel I might. One is a doepfer xtreme filter, one is a hyperfist, and one is a taaka...
