Re: Strymon Magneto - mono??
Well, I don’t agree. First of all, delays that preserve stereo image isn’t exactly unheard of. Of course there would be movement, you would still have wow&flutter, tape inperfections and so on. You could even do stuff like soundtoys echoboy and have the option to apply wow&flutter differently to th...

Re: Arturia MicroFreak
I "like" the graphics. Gives it character. And I see it as sort of dark gray-ish? 😋 Same. I think it looks kinda dumb in pictures but cool in person. The keyboard especially looks and plays way cooler than I expected. And it’s a very dark gray to my eyes. It also makes cool as hell soundings easily...

Plus one for Intellijel cases. The quality is superb. The Emitum cases are crazy light and thin with good power if you really want to lighten the load.

Re: Cable/ribbon management inside of cases
Sounds normal. I just go from one end to the other a module at a time and gently push the ribbons out of the way. As long as you’re not forcing anything you won’t hurt anything. I wouldn’t want a clear case since I’m sure it looks like a train wreck in there.

Re: Arturia MicroFreak
yesssss. sorry, meant is that all one would need to add? does the OG MicroFrumph do vocoding and have a mic input? It does. It uses the headphone jack which is TRRS. You can split it out with something like an IK iRig(OG analog version). The official gooseneck has a breakout built in for headphones...

Re: Mutable Instruments Clouds 2 (watching us from the dark side)
Glad folks like the music and appreciate the patch notes :) I am actually about to release a new album this week, and this module is on four of those tracks too. Right now my plan for the next project after that is a study of the module -- because I've found myself getting into a comfortable groove...

Totally get that, but for me it saved money since it replaced multiple other uncheap pedals. At the very least it let me sell the Blooper and Particle 2 and still gain a ton of other fun stuff.unexpectedbowtie wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 5:50 amI love the look of the device, but at the price point I can't take a chance on it D:

Re: Mutable Instruments Clouds 2 (watching us from the dark side)
prediction: it will have more memory so higher quality/longer grain sizes possibly but will but quite similar in most aspects. buttons for all modes, no more blend knob stuff. However, the negative will be no more reverb! There's still a "cube" icon, though, which was used for reverb on Clouds. Mak...

Well the NE oscilllators finally broke me down and literally forced me to cash in some store credit for one. Really looking forward to seeing what drones can come out of this thing. Love that it’ll run off a battery pack via USB.

Re: Intruo Modules Free on VCV Rack
I guess that's the big question. Are they clones? Are they faithful? My understanding is that is pretty engineering intensive to model an analogue circuit sufficient well to accurately reproduce its sound in software. My assumption it that small manufacturer like Instruo probably doesn't have time ...

Hi all, What happens when Scales powers up? Does it e.g. load the last used bank? Or, can we force that behaviour by setting the SHIFT input to SCALE and e.g. provide a constant CV that selects the intended bank right on power-up? Video manual here (1:49): https://youtu.be/uA5__IoXwkU?t=109 I'm hop...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper
For the Micro, can someone explain how the CV inputs work? Is it like the assimil8or where any input can be assigned to multiple tracks and parameters? The micro seems like a good sampler but there must be some drawbacks that I am not seeing edit I should mention that Im asking when trigs and pitch...

Re: Octatrack vs. Ableton Live
5 years later.... I am in my second OT, and I still use Live, though still have not become a power Push user. My first OT was a mk I I got in a trade. My second is a mk II I recently picked up. The second time around I’m much more inspired. There are several things I like about the OT over Live, th...

Re: Octatrack vs. Ableton Live
The thing that keeps driving me back into the OT is that for me, the box really allows for immediacy and experimentation. Like, you can easily record perfect passes in Live the same way and carve those up with more precision, and I'll still favor that approach in some situations. But I appreciate t...

Re: Octatrack vs. Ableton Live
I’m mainly interested in the live sampling aspects of the OT compared to Ableton. I’ve used Live in live settings but never to capture audio I that setting, but the Push appears to make that theoretically interesting. I’m drawn to the OT though, especially for its self reliance So you can do that w...

Bumping this thread since I’m currently faced with the same decision between an OT and ableton/push. I was going to write a reply, but.. this is just a super lazy request. Go read this thread, and elektronauts, and come back with specific questions. Cool story. The thread is five years old, so thin...

My Data Bender was supposed to be here Christmas Eve. I was so excited—a brand-new Data Bender to play with all Christmas morning! I got the UPS shipping notice this afternoon.
