Re: The PERFECT Knob torque

I find that most Intellijel knobs have the turn-feel that I prefer. What bothers me most though are 1) when knobs on the same module feel different, 2) when knobs have a different feel depending on where they are in the rotation (On my Dual Borg the LP/BP/HP knob turns super easily from 7oclock to 1...

Re: Where are the bit crushers?

People have already mentioned using sample and holds, and to that end the SSF Ultra-Random Analog can get some really fantastic sounding down-sampling. Control is a bit coarse because of the clock's enormous range but you can at least choose between 2 ranges, either sub audio rate to around 23kHz or...

Re: Doepfer Vs all the rest

"Blue collar modules", "Plain vanilla utilities", a "Working man's waveshaper" lolz, all things I love about Doepfer's sturdy, robust, and unassuming line. What I find great about Doepfer is that their modules really run the gamut of functionality. Go to the modules section on modular grid, select "...

...I have a question regarding the Flip Sync mode for the green oscillator : it doesn't seem to work very well when the yellow oscillator is recieving Linear TZFM (but it works when the yellow recieves Exp FM). In other words, it seems that when the yellow one is FM modulated via Linear TZFM bus, t...

Re: 2020 Holiday Waiting Game

Ordered a Brenso from Detroit Modular back in September. They got it in stock early December and shipped it 12/9. Best I can tell it's sitting in some overflow pile in a Michigan distribution facility getting passed over everyday. But a package that my friend in Indiana sent on 12/1 managed to turn ...

Re: O|D ER-301: Sound Computer (Temporarily Unavailable)

Anyone here with updates on the er-301 availability? https://forum.orthogonaldevices.com/t/international-store/4862/9 Definitely doesn't seem like anytime soon. Looks to be dependent on EMS opening back up the shipping out of Japan and even then the manufacturer doesn't seem to be in too much of a ...

Re: 14hp for a kick that’s not just a kick

Kickall is a great sounding kick. I've got an MFB drum-04 and ssf entity that I switch between for all my bass drums. I've actually got 2 entitys because I like having one for just a plucky bass voice. I'll definitely get the new version whenever that's released too. But it seems to me that you'd do...

Re: How do you organize your rack?

First thing I always consider is where the jacks and knobs are located because it'll take a lot of the decision making out of the equation for me. A module with all of its knobs on the bottom and jacks on top obviously belongs on the bottom row, or as low as it can be placed. Then I'll think about h...

Re: Intellijel Tetrapad

Just wanted to follow up that DM replaced my module and agreed that the one I had was especially bad. The replacement is nearly all flat (you can tell that there is an ever so slight bump, but it is uniform and barely noticeable). The one I got from DM is also slightly raised at the bottom of the 3...

You bubble wrap patched?!
Haha nah, guess that wasn't clear. My thought was that the only benefit to me of a decksaver kind of case over bubblewrap would be if it allowed me to cover it while patched. But since it prob wouldn't include that benefit then I may as well stick to the bub.

Re: Post pics of your euro setup!

I have no intention on buying any more cases, so the pod thing is a great way to add that, "one more thing" module or exactly as you said something to take else where to learn but the issue I have with them is the lack of lid. I'm petrified of dropping it or something being dropped on it. Yep, ever...

Re: Stackable Cables by TipTop: Bad?!

I had a brand new tiptop stackable that went bad after about a year of use. What a lot of people don't seem to know, and it wasn't mentioned here yet, is that Tiptop have a 2 year warranty on their stackable cables *. I told the seller (sweetwater) that the cable I got from them had gone bad and aft...

Re: New SSF Entity Release - Percussion Synthesizer

All these new features sound fantastic, especially the addition of a side-chainable compressor which is a really great idea. I'm also glad there will be a fine control for tuning since I like to use all of the entities I have as bass voices and the occasional lead synth, and tuning them always takes...

Re: Post pics of your euro setup!

Looking great too! I can totally see a very good use case for controller-specific pods, like you did with the Planar here. By happenstance I had 6hp free and decided to add the shortbus, which will work perfectly for routing CV to the Planar's two CV inputs. Not sure I would have thought to do that...

Re: Post pics of your euro setup!

You know, when these pod cases first came out I immediately wrote them off as a pointless waste. But here I am now with my third one and I'm just really liking the basic utility of them. I take a few modules out of the main case to travel with or use as a side-piece to another stand-alone synth. I b...

Re: ADDAC215 Dual S&H+

A question for 215 owners: If you trigger both channels of the 215 simultaneously (using a multed trigger/gate), using the internal noise input, do you get the same value from both channels? Or is there a slight built-in delay that makes the values on each channel unique? An interesting answer for ...

I had two for a while also and noticed the same difference in min/max LFO speed and slight difference in resonance, but I didn't notice any clipping when they were in series. I saw that the Rev #s on the back were different (Rev 07 2016 & Rev 06 2017) and figured that this had a lot to do with it. I...

I'm on day 5 of exploring the Eloquencer and finding a lot to love but a lot of frustrations along the way too.
