Re: Intellijel Tetrapad

Just wanted to follow up that DM replaced my module and agreed that the one I had was especially bad. The replacement is nearly all flat (you can tell that there is an ever so slight bump, but it is uniform and barely noticeable). The one I got from DM is also slightly raised at the bottom of the 3...

You bubble wrap patched?!
Haha nah, guess that wasn't clear. My thought was that the only benefit to me of a decksaver kind of case over bubblewrap would be if it allowed me to cover it while patched. But since it prob wouldn't include that benefit then I may as well stick to the bub.

Re: Post pics of your euro setup!

I have no intention on buying any more cases, so the pod thing is a great way to add that, "one more thing" module or exactly as you said something to take else where to learn but the issue I have with them is the lack of lid. I'm petrified of dropping it or something being dropped on it. Yep, ever...

Re: Stackable Cables by TipTop: Bad?!

I had a brand new tiptop stackable that went bad after about a year of use. What a lot of people don't seem to know, and it wasn't mentioned here yet, is that Tiptop have a 2 year warranty on their stackable cables *. I told the seller (sweetwater) that the cable I got from them had gone bad and aft...

Re: New SSF Entity Release - Percussion Synthesizer

All these new features sound fantastic, especially the addition of a side-chainable compressor which is a really great idea. I'm also glad there will be a fine control for tuning since I like to use all of the entities I have as bass voices and the occasional lead synth, and tuning them always takes...

Re: Winter Modular Eloquencer Sequencer

Do you know if there's one of these that's printer friendly? Not that I've found. But yeah you def don't want to blow all your red ink for no reason and it's not too easy to copy/paste the text to a new doc. You could try asking the SonicVoltage guy who made it. He might be up for making a quick ed...

Re: Post pics of your euro setup!

Looking great too! I can totally see a very good use case for controller-specific pods, like you did with the Planar here. By happenstance I had 6hp free and decided to add the shortbus, which will work perfectly for routing CV to the Planar's two CV inputs. Not sure I would have thought to do that...

Re: Post pics of your euro setup!

You know, when these pod cases first came out I immediately wrote them off as a pointless waste. But here I am now with my third one and I'm just really liking the basic utility of them. I take a few modules out of the main case to travel with or use as a side-piece to another stand-alone synth. I b...

Re: Winter Modular Eloquencer Sequencer

Got it. Thanks! Any experience with beta 3.9? too buggy or working well? Nope sorry I'm on 1.3.8. Still relatively new with it myself and I don't do betas unless I'm super fluid with everything. Otherwise I can't be sure if I'm messing something up or it's the firmware. Does anyone have a link to t...

But i can't seems to find what's changing between this one and the black one It's literally just the faceplate color. A while back at a demo for the ZPO at Control I heard Andrew say that they would only be doing black panels from here on out because the economics make way more sense. Plus you alwa...

Re: Producing dub, beginner question

In terms of time based fx, should I leave everything dry and 'play' the sends, or alternatively place everything into its own space beforehand, so that each track permanently resides there, before adding further live tweaking via the sends? Put another way, should i dub a mixed session - or treat t...

Re: ADDAC215 Dual S&H+

A question for 215 owners: If you trigger both channels of the 215 simultaneously (using a multed trigger/gate), using the internal noise input, do you get the same value from both channels? Or is there a slight built-in delay that makes the values on each channel unique? An interesting answer for ...

Re: Xaoc Kamieniec Analog Phase Rotator

I had two for a while also and noticed the same difference in min/max LFO speed and slight difference in resonance, but I didn't notice any clipping when they were in series. I saw that the Rev #s on the back were different (Rev 07 2016 & Rev 06 2017) and figured that this had a lot to do with it. I...

Re: Winter Modular Eloquencer Sequencer

I'm on day 5 of exploring the Eloquencer and finding a lot to love but a lot of frustrations along the way too. I decided to add it as a complement to the metron/voltera set up that I already had which I really loved but found difficult to edit melodies that I'd already programmed. So now eloquencer...

Is it normal for the X-Pan to reduce volume of a signal going in? Patched a sine into chA, knob fully ccw to my outboard mixer and the same sine directly to mixer. The direct signal was about 2dB louder than the same signal through the X-Pan... Yeah I'm getting about the same reduction, a little mo...

I've been hunting for all kinds of modules and it seems like a LOT of places are just out. I mean seriously. I was looking for Maths a few weeks ago and don't think anyone in the US even had one. Re: Sequencer Recommendations

I've been through a couple different sequencers over the years (ER-101/102, A-155, voltage block, Popcorn, Triggerman to name a few) but I've found Metron and Voltera to have some real strong staying power in my rack. A problem I'm having now though is that I really need more than the 16 channels it...

We'll eventually have a way to view voltages. Oh I definitely have faith and patience. I really love having a wide variety of hats to mix and match between. That's why I send 4 channels of triggers to an A-182-2 quad switch that goes to a Mutant Hihats, a Patching Panda Hatz, an MFB Drum-03, and an MFB OH/HH/CY 522. Also gotta keep the Quantum Rainbow close by to replace a stale noise...

Re: WMD Metron sequencer

One thing I'd love to see is the "random" feature expanded to Voltera voltages. Hold "random" button and either press the Voltron "select" button to randomize all 4 tracks, or do a "knob turn" select for each track....which would apply random voltages based on the range/quantization setting set for...

Re: Running Hour Meter Module

Why does it need to be in rack, couldn't you just use stop watch? Maybe it's not as automatic as you'd like but if you would need to plug a cable into the module for it to start measuring then surely you can remember to push the start/stop button at the beginning and end of every session.

Re: Electronic music is the music of automation and accidents

Good topic and discussion. I view the difference between purposefully composing a piece of music and "discovering" musical ideas with electronic instruments or software as less of an either/or and more of a spectrum. I enjoy going back and forth between both ends since some days I'll have a specific...
