Re: Does everyone eventually have to get a Maths?

I just got marbles and have quadrax with expander so no need for a maths. I may get one in my new case just to be complete but Falistri and Sapel look sexier.

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer

Nice, I just got a new Disting EX so will look into how to use the recording CV algorithm to sd card for uploading to DAW.

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer

Is there a good way to record modular on an SD card of some type and then upload to Ableton and other DAW software packages like Logic in an easy way without dealing with software? I would be curious to know what modular pros like Alessandro Cortini does to record his modular stuff into Logic and so...

Re: Black Friday deals on eurorack modules?

Patchwerks has a sale and since they are on west coast, my gear came way faster than the order I've been waiting on Detroit Modular for a while now. Tom at Patchwerks is super nice and helpful. Plus they sent a cool free colorful blank panel :-)

I use logic with the connections with trigger inputs for modules connected to Pam. Works great. Unless I am doing it wrong :-)

Re: Current system while I wait for Usta

I am in same boat but getting tons of mileage with Marbles and expert Sleepers Disting EX. Love feeding random chaos generator into Marbles and Rings from Disting EX and using the other channel for wave shaper or VCO. Good stuff.

Re: BitBox vs Erica Sample Drum

Eh, that firmware issue with Bitbox worries me a bit. Hope it either has been resolved or gets fixed quickly. I would wait on that module. I like what Assimil8or does but the high price tag and tiny screen gives me pause on getting it as my sampler.

Bionic Lester MK3 and Kermit MK3 are wonderful for the nasty side of stuff. I have a Hertz Donut MK3 on the way and looking forward to fm madness with all three of them sequenced by a Stillson Hammer.

I would get the Bitbox micro over either and have fun. Bitbox micro does way more than Erica Synths sample drums.

Favorite modular samplers

Hi all, Looking at a good sampler to record CV in rack and chop up for playback and also send to a DAW like Ableton for recording. Currently, I am looking at the following modular samplers: ALM Busy Circuits Squid Salmple- looks fun but limited recording/playback time 1010 Bitbox Micro- way cheaper ...

Re: Brand new to this.

Definitely recommend Mutable Instruments Kinks + Links for good support tools that offer logic, mixing, offset of CV and mults. Also lots of choices for attenuator and VCAs- things like Intellijel Quad VCA, Mutable Instruments Veils and Shades, Noise Engineering Lapsos Os. Function/Envelopes like Ma...

Re: advice for new system(s)

Funny as I just ordered a new MDLR 14U case with Intellijel 1u tiles as well. Here is my build so far: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1384571 I also have a Doepfer monster base case on pre-order and WMD Metron sequencer as well. Modular drums are just way too much fun! Anyways I made sure ...

Re: What VCAs do you prefer for attenuating/modulating CV?

I needed more VCAs and a matrix mixer for my new rack so I decided to order a new Erogeneous Tones VC8 and 4ms VCA Matrix. I found that I was using way more VCAs than expected and even with the Hex VCA in my second rack, coming close to running out of VCA tools. Hope i made good choice.

Re: MORDAX : DATA - Now available for pre-order

I could not find any online at shops so I checked the Mordax website and bought mine today there. Looking forward to it as I love clocks, oscilloscopes and LFOs. Should be fun in my new setups. Often stores don't have anything but direct from modular company is way to go.

Re: Eurorack shops

Detroit is also my favorite shop, I always go there first. One thing I did learn (not from Detroit, but I presume it could apply to any seller) is to avoid pre-orders, I've seen them take forever and in Covid times, seems like it could be even worse than forever... Yeah I agree. I did a pre-order w...

Even better, visit the linked website as one of the authors Chris Meyer has tons of good videos on his website LearningModular.com. The diagram patch language is a bit confusing and takes time to learn f...

Mimeophon as I was not expecting more than a delay FX module. Has far exceeded my expectations. Cursus Iteritas is better than initially expected as well when heavily modulated and sequenced.

I use S+H for the CV inputs to modulate rise, fall and level for krell or krell like patches
Very cool idea and I need to try that with the S&H from Kinks and kermit to CV inputs on Quadrax. Do you find assigning and changing CV assignments easy or difficult of Qiuadrax?

Re: Which Joystick brings you joy?

It would be cool if they made a phallic symbol joystick in gold leaf plated and called it the golden cock. Put a rooster icon next to it and would be fun case candy besides making a rooster crow cock sound echo whenever you modulate something. Damn I just came up with a cool idea for a new module!

@skreetis, yeah that is the main turn off to Frap Tool modules- an even more obtuse layout and cryptic icons than Make Noise which I thought at one time was the father of confusing labels.
