Re: Using the synth to mask background noise

Just buy some KRK V6 S4 monitors and enjoy their noise. A brand new pair showed up here yesterday and they hiss like hell :waah:

Have a look at novations ultranova. Great synth that goes under the radar and can be had for cheap.
No multi timbrality though.

You totally got me! If you like the Geiger counter you should check this out: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ That's some very clever use of the geiger counter! Nice to see it produce some mellower sounds, I always thought it can only do harsh tones. Oh and to the OP: demos please!

Re: Interested in a reprint of Allen Strange's Electronic Music?

Apologies if this is redundant info… Back in 2006 I was able to get this as a .pdf from http://www.mhhe.com/primis/online/. However, the scan quality left much to be desired. I could read it, but it wasn't easy on the eyes, and some of the photos were too dark to see in detail. If this project is g...

Yes these Panels are lovely! I think credit goes to cremacaffe design in italy, the same people behind mutable instruments panel graphics. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm fairly certain it's Papernoise. Different Italians, as far as I know. They do the Mutable Instruments ones and a few others. Not su...

Can you push the volca buttons (not the touch strip) without holding the unit from beneath? Does the stand flex or change its angle when you do this?

Re: Quarantined for 2 months with one synth...

I would say Octatrack or OP-1, but these are too damn expensive.
So Model:Cycles then, it basically has everything to make full tracks at a great price. From my existing setup I would choose the Volca drum, paired with a Minilogue if possible. Should be well in the price range if bought used.

I got my Digitone yesterday – happy days – all good but I realised that when I tap the faceplate, especially in the middle of the unit, there is a noticeable ‘reverb’, a slight sound sort of like when you hit a drum. Basically it sounds like the faceplate is perhaps not fixed ‘flush’ with the inter...

May I ask is there a specific reason why to have just one pitts osc? I was also looking at the phase distortion osc from WMD, would that be a solid complement to one pitts ? The double helix is already a dual oscillator, you will be able to get a huge range of sounds out of it. So better concentrat...

I wanted one of these pretty badly but the price + shipping from U.S.A + import taxes here in switzerland added up to an unreasonable amount. The low price of the ALM hanger means no import taxes for me :tu:
