Re: Minimum modules needed to produce sound

I would definitely go for something like the 0-Coast or Mother32 to start. They will both give you all you need to start, are self contained, and will integrate seamlessly with any future modules you buy. Check this out: http://youtu.be/5FW8QYt6bio Thanks for posting this. It was one of the videos ...

Are you getting latency on yours when striking the grains?
I've got enough to make it pretty unusable for percussive stuff, or even melodies- there is quite a noticeable short delay between the trigger and the audio output
Using a drum output from my BeatStep Pro there's no noticeable delay...

Re: how do you manage your musical timeline using modular

This: Free improvisation/electro acoustic improvisation. And some of this: I record separate tracks of a jam and make changes to the arrangement in post. I also add effects and set the levels in post, pretty much. Sometimes I improvise and record a stereo pair. Other times I feel something needs a b...

Ceremony, The Miraculous and Dead Magic by Anna Von Hausswolff. Pipe organs, guitars and fantastic vocals.
Any Gazelle Twin, the music gets more esoteric with each release.

If you want very minimalistic music then check out Richard Chartier/Pinkcourtesyphone

Re: What are you listening to now?

It's a slightly less manic album by the DKs. I'll spare you the included Penis Landscape poster. Nothing wrong with a bit of Giger. When I was about 14 I had the poster up on the back of my bedroom door. It took my mum 2 years to notice it, or at least comment. Her response was to roll her eyes and...

Re: What is it about the musical genre "noise" that you find appealing?

It cleans the mind and it is soothing because it makes you stop thinking. Just like ambient. For me at least. To infinity and beyond. I find it can both stop you thinking or aid your thinking... I find stuff like Merzbow and Incapacitants helps me concentrate on work. Blots out the outside world, n...

Re: What are you listening to now?

A few hours ago I was made aware of Pinkcourtesyphone's existence. After listening to a couple of albums I moved on to the output Richard Chartier puts out under his own name. I've loved everything I've heard so far. I love finding new things to listen to, especially when there's a couple of dozen a...

Does anyone know whether the knob that belongs to a function that you start to modulate with CV will start to behave as an offset to that CV (i.e. knob position is added to CV), or as a attenuator (i.e. knob determines amount of CV) for it?
It’s more offset. Knob and CV are summed.

The full manual is in process--until then there are two quick start guides--one on the Instruo site, and another that comes with the module.
There also the, pretty, in depth 1 hour 47 minutes long youtube video:

SSM2044 4-Pole Filter project

Whilst digging around boxes in the loft I found the remains of a Maplin 4-Pole filter kit that I built in 1991. It was housed in a plastic box that got destroyed. I vaguely remembered that the P11 - P18 were for CV connections. So after about 30 mins searching the internet I found a scan of the issu...

If you use onset detection, you don’t need to touch Arbhar to begin recording. Alternatively, you can use patch into the cv input and use other modules to control any parameter on Arbhar, including record.
I know that, but occasionally you just need to hit the button

Re: Instruo arbhar granular processor

I got the module a couple of weeks ago, due to work and kids I've only spent a couple of hours with it. 2 things kind of irritate me, slightly, about the module. 1) If you're using the onboard mic the the clacky noise of record enable button is picked up. 2) This isn't just limited to the Arbhar, bu...
