Re: Greatest electronic song ever.

I was just watching some some what recent shots of pink floyd band members playing with the original sequencers and synths used for Dark Side of the Moon. There was a lot of tape stuff, but i didnt realize how much was done with synths. Also almost all the instruments(even singers), went through an...

did the Driftbox-J manual ever get translated?
I'm going to ditto this - I am thinking of grabbing one I found, but really don't want to be head scratching for weeks on end. I want to make music!

Re: Ridiculous sounds, that we still love...

When I was a kid, I was burning some trash paper in a fire outside being a little bit of a pyro.. I threw in a plastic gallon milk, which melted and caught fire, I stirred it with a stick a bit and when I pulled the molten mess stuck to my stick it started dripping off. Each droplet made a pseeeeuuu...

I hope as you learn this, perhaps make a review or tutorial on this stuff? (Maybe even charge a small amount for it.)

Post your 2020 inspirational discoveries...

I was thinking as I watched a Loopop video that we perhaps don't see enough from people's inspirational discoveries. And I don't mean the abstract, yeah, I got inspired by how those clouds made me want to write something ephemeral, but more about the nitty gritty of what you did to realize it. It do...

Re: Majella Audio teases IMPLEXUS

Microvolt seems to have mostly the same features and a large patch bay. I like the timing ideas and LEDs for feedback they put on the Implexus for the LFO and I am certain it will sound different, but the early bird Kickstarter price seems to be advertised at ~1300 Euros. For half that, you can get ...

Re: Majella Audio teases IMPLEXUS

I think it is pretty cool, but quite frankly it's directly competing against a Microvolt 3900 IMHO. The only thing it seems to have on it is the LED light feedback and maybe the LFO time divisions (you'd have to do more work with the Microvolt). If they were targeting more in that price range, I'd p...

Re: Greatest electronic song ever.

Yeah, it's actually more noises in the background which (to me) only appear at the end of the song around 4:25 on (evidently it was a US mix).

They sound like they are echoes off the toms, which is why I associate them with the drums.

Re: Greatest electronic song ever.

IMHO, Thomas Dolby's first album is full of genius arrangements and sounds - a synthpop masterclass. ...snip... Quick hijack before I give my input... Anyone have an idea of how Thomas Dolby created the sort of rising/falling drum effects at the tail end of this song (on the album, I don't think it...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Bought a case for my recent CS-15 purchase. I can't stand not having a case for my gear. I am super impressed with the sounds you can get with the CS-15, so got to protect that investment!

What synth is Adrian Wright playing in this vid?

I'm curious what synth is on the right... I can tell the one being used for the bass is a CS-15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twG5mu6coOA It doesn't seem to match any listed here: https://encyclotronic.com/music/synth-pop/dare-r377/ (It could be just something stuck up there for show, but I would...

In theory it ships later today for arrival Friday. Woot.
Congrats!
BTW, is there a way to "react" to a post w/o quoting it?
I haven't seen how to do that here on Muff... That would be awesome if we could.

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Hmmm... Might have to ditch the Wii and its games since my son doesn't play it any longer. Probably not as valuable, but if I made $150 I'd be happy.

2 Connectivity Needs...

I am looking for some advice to interface some gear. I suspect this will be the easier one of the two... I have a CS-15 on the way. It seems to have V/Hz and trigger that operates sort of opposite of everything else. I'll probably want to sequence this on occasion; so what is a reliable conversion u...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Well I thought the Korg Wavestate would have been my next synth, but alas I decided to go analog instead... I just ordered a Yamaha CS-15 and an Analogue Solutions Fusebox off Reverb. I went with Affirm for payment; I hope to pay it off early, but decided to go with 24 months just so I have breathin...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Used a $50 gift card I had to get a case for the 0-Ctrl I got, plus an extra power ribbon to give me a little more in my NiftyCase, and one 5ft patch cable in case I need the distance between my semimodulars. So nothing exciting per se; just stuff to improve what I have. Current plans may not need ...

Re: How do you use mutes?

So I decided on the DivKid one. It seemed to have the features I would use the most with my semi-modulars.

I hope people still contribute to this thread with how they use them. I certainly will add to it when I get the module in and hooked up.

Seeing you mention the Vocoder makes me think of the Korg DVP-1 which has a harmonizer, pitch shifter, vocoder, and a voice/choir (oohs and ahhs In both male and female).

Re: Recommend your weirdest craziest FX machine ever

I just had a look through my manual, the voltage range isn't specified, but I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned in a thread on MW. All the manual states is that the expression pedal needs to have a TRS jack connected to a 10-50k potentiometer, so you could in theory build a box with a. TRS cable, p...
