converting 5v to a much lower voltage

I have a Chamber of Sounds J3DX synth which is wonderful synth for percussive sound effects.... It is made for live play. I have the little trigger device which essentially works at contact mic voltages. I'd like to figure out a way of reducing the voltage from a typical 5v clock or trigger so I cou...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Specular Tempus reverb pedal - but the effects loop isn't working. I'm e-mailing with GFI but given the seller's response (nope sorry can't help you dunno never used it) a return is going to be a pain if I can't get it working. I hope you keep is in the loop here as I'll be watching this intently. ...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Well I had no intension of doing it, but I did. I'd been going round and round about the 1010 blackbox, MPC Live, Live 2 and One and then this popped up in my feed. So I bought it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WxZb1s3wa8 I have Isla's Kordbot. It's a pretty cool little device - I like it's stru...

Re: VOID Modular Hexagram

This would be neat if it also had mute buttons like the VOID Modular 6 Channel Mixer with mutes. It might be another 4 hp wider but it would gain quite a bit of functionality Voltage control plus mute buttons, great for performance It does look a bit cramped as it is laid out anyway I only had to a...

Re: The Utility Modules for Semi-Modular Synths Discussion

Apologies if this is a bit of a sideways post but here goes anyway! I tend towards the much derided 'tofu and cactus' school of ambient and have a semi-modular set up I'm quite happy with. However, I'm thinking of putting together a mini-modulation box of Marbles, Maths and Wogglebug - current euro...

Re: analogue solutions impulse command

https://youtu.be/sFSaOml3qf8 Here I'm running the IC from a syncopated rhythm generated from a Zularic Repetitor. Not running the IC in straight 16th notes gives the instrument much more breathing room in a mix. Very cool - I actually made a remark in a Subharminicon thread that because it and the ...

Re: The Utility Modules for Semi-Modular Synths Discussion

Here's a related question: does anyone make a Mother32-sized utilities-only semimodular? I'm picturing the same general form factor as a Mother or Neutron, with a patchbay on the right hand side and knobs on the left, but all dedicated to CV utilities such as attenuverting/amplifying/offsetting, ac...

Re: The Utility Modules for Semi-Modular Synths Discussion

I have to say up front that I am biased because I make these types of modules, but I would add some controllers to your system. If you do music that evolves over time and want to control that manually, you need joysticks, slide-pot modules, programmers and the like. Maybe som controllers that will ...

...snip... Cool drone in the background. Audacity is free and has many options for recording audio from your computer, but I'm not sure if it can capture audio from outboard gear and it's not an app for iPhone. Thanks! [bbvideo] https://youtu.be/w4-A7g42WnE[/bbvideo] Some nice live IC That is beautiful... Reminds me of some of the slower melodic Yazoo stuff from You and Me Both, but with the sounds more akin to Upstairs at Eric's Are the Generators doing anything? Re: The Utility Modules for Semi-Modular Synths Discussion

I’m most definitely getting the 0-CTRL. I already have typical sequencers in my Field Kit FX and Dreadbox Kappa, so this thing will be awesome for the experimental side. Yeah, I saw that and the ONLY controller/sequencer I have in mind I may get before it is an Analogues Solutions Generator. Had my...

This represents my latest thinking based on all your inputs. A few things shifted it slightly... I am pondering getting a 0-Control. I As was pointed out, most of my sequencing choices didn't require quantization, but this one may. I saw an excellent vid by Loopop on the 0-Control where he used an E...

Didn't some of the 90s portasounds from Yamaha also use those chips?
Nah, different chip. That was the YM3812/OPL2, which had only 2 operators and used a weird combination of fm and additive synthesis.
