I'm going to pick mine up tomorrow. What stands are people using? I'm assuming a typical spider style 2 tier stand would work well?
It should work. I have mina on a Millennium Spider clone stand and it works great.

Re: Arp 2600 FS compilation

I stand corrected! FS means Full SIze. (not really, jk). I would still advocate adding serial number or something to the thread title, as the way it currently reads it looks like you're making a thread about the various ARP 2600's that are for sale, which might be a thing, although not your specifi...

Re: Arp 2600 FS compilation

With all respect, Arp 2600 FS is the correct product name - please check your serial number tag as well as Korg’s product page for the product: https://www.korg.com/se/products/synthesizers/arp2600_fs/ FS is in Korg terminology Full Scale (thank God they didn't transformed the 2600 to a toy), not Fo...

Arp 2600 FS compilation

Just for curiosity - what serial numbers do you have on your Arp 2600 FS, where did you bought it and when did arrive? Any issues? Mine is: Serial: 0348 Purchased at Thomann, Germany Arrived May 12th The top part of the keyboard cover (not the keyboard was cracked in two corners, the coating to the ...

Re: Korg Arp 2600 Arrival Date

Hehe, something common with Joe Zawinul at least 😉. One good thing: I contacted my reseller, Thomann.de and they said they will get a new batch ARP 2600 FS at the beginning of June (we talked about to replace my 2600 before I found out what was going on) - so I guess it’s a second chance to achieve ...

Re: Korg Arp 2600 Arrival Date

Thank you Thispoison, it was related to the (miss-) understanding of the mixer section and that I sent VCF to MIXER instead of VCA to MIXER.

Re: Korg Arp 2600 Arrival Date

Mine 2600 arrived today. What can I say? Marvelous!

First I thought something was wrong as it droned as soon the INITIAL FILTER FREQUENCY was turned up. Contacted my reseller but luckily I found out it was some settings at the VCA. Extremely happy man!

Re: Midi sequencer

All DAWs are basically similar with different names and locations for the functions. For traditional DAW Logic X is great for MIDI. I use Pro Tools as well but wouldn’t recommend it for MIDI. For more step sequencer oriented tasks I tried Numerology and it was great. An option is to go hardware sequ...

Re: Juno 60 vs Juno 106

I had them booth. Loved the Juno-60, disliked the Juno-106 as I hoped the 106 was a 60 with added MIDI and portamento, but it wasn’t. In my ears the 60 sounds pure analog, lush and organic while the 106 sounds just plastic and lack of focus. Build quality is a major difference as well were the 60 is...

Re: How was this polysynth sound made?

During the late 80s I had a simple 8 part multitimbral Roland D-110 (yes I know its not FM, but its organ) running through a Leslie (with some distortion) as “Hammond”, at stage as well as a number of album. The different parts were programmed (by a friend who sold his L100 as it was heavy touring w...

There are not that many desktip models. Akai S1000 or similar does the job (but is pretty large and heavy).

Re: Engineering as an art; favorite synth hardware?

Some devices I would consider as engineering as art: - Moog Model D - a masterpiece like nothing else. - Polivox were the husband made the engineering and the wife the design is poetry. - Oberheim OB8, Oberheim Matrix 12 (or Xpander) and Prophet 5 were some classic polys and masterpieces then as wel...

Re: How was this polysynth sound made?

It sounds like a two part sound in a similar way as the D50: A flutish attack and an organ type of sound for the pipes. But it doesn’t sound D50, its more modern and not that ruff samples that the D50 has. Perhaps a software sampler with these two parts of sound combined. The pipes could be FM. Grea...

Re: Korg Arp 2600 Arrival Date

So my Sweetwater order status changed from “waiting for items” to “order received”. I hope that’s a good sign.. No, I’m not obsessed with checking the order status at all. :D I check the status (Thomann, Germany) about every day, sometimes more.... and it’s the same to me, I’m not obsessed with che...

Re: Please, stop octave left hand playing without purpose

Somewhat related to OP. Saw an interview with drummer Simon Phillips where he makes a point of he never play his bass drum simultaneous with toms. A trick he picked up watching engineers trying to clear up muddy sound in post production. Somewhat similar but for a different reason drum style Charli...

Re: Please, stop octave left hand playing without purpose

But...but...how do I play Blue Monday, Sweet Dreams and other 80’s classics? That’s brilliant songs! Sweet Dreams and many other 80s classics play one note at time per synth timbre (Vince Clark is my hero of that particular synth production technique). When listening to a Youtube synth demo I simpl...

Re: Allen Heath SQ-series?

What I try to say is that it continue to be focus with the same thing when changing channel. Similar to when jumping between channels in a DAW such Logic. Example jumping from ch 7 to ch 12: It doesn’t copy the setting from one channel to another. If hi mid was 8k of ch 7 it wont change the hi mid o...

Re: CV Sequencer with envelope outputs?

I can control Envelopes in two ways with my setup. These two examples to control the Envelope Generators at the Roland System 100m: 1. The DAW running through a Moog Voyager / VX-351. When I use the Envelope Generators at the Voyager it sends it further to the target. 2. The DAW running through a Do...

Does the SQ remember the last active band when selecting channels per channel or overall? So let´s say I set band 4 on channel 1, select channel 2, set band 3 (!), jump back to channel 1, will it still be on band 4 or does it carry the focus of band 3 over?
Yes
