Re: Ensoniq Lovers Unite

Pennsylvanian born and raised, shout out to the old Ensoniq facotry out in Malvern PA! Fellow Penntucker myself here! Up north in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. Now if you do ever grab an ASR-10 rack, then you can come straight to me to sell the keyboard version to a good, loving forever home! :hy...

Re: Ensoniq Lovers Unite

Considered getting a rack to replace the ASR beast of a keyboard but now realizing how much I am used to that particular ensoniq key touch! ive said this many times before on this forum, but i really prefer to have the key versions of synths that as often as i can. I hear you, although I've gotten ...

Re: Ensoniq Lovers Unite

Killer thread. i am a dedicated ASR-10 user. With the sequencer, tho limited, I have gotten great results somehow in making tracks, but have just recently incorporated a new more advanced midi sequencer in the mix to hopefully no longer suffer the frustrating 'SHUFFLING DATA' message. the sampling o...

a funny coincidence that skkatter is also chiming in here, as he directly influenced me to go in a different direction as far as sequencing / programming Did you get a Cirklon? :D This is the software I helped test out that converts midi files to MC4 FSK audio files: https://defectiverecords.com/po...

Re: Roland MC4 opinions...

So then it must be a B!! Woo hoo I'm not surprised, the majority of MC4s out there are B versions. There were only a small number of the A version made and I have never even seen a picture of one. Glad 3hands bought mine! These things are special and deserve to be used, such great tight timing and ...

Re: Oberheim SEM custom patch panel

hi there, just dropping in to say nice layout! I will be embarking on this task myself soon for my own oberheim SEMs. I am considering going banana jacks! I have a small banana only modular system that interfaces well with the SEMs, and would have a common ground jack, and potentially an adapter sec...

Re: Famous fonts used at synthesizers

Wanting to bump this old great thread to see if anyone has a line on the original font used for Oberheim SEMs, on the control panel face, as well as the back 'synthesizer expander module' in all caps - looks to be the same

cheers!

Re: STS Serge

Rex is definitely a trip to talk to. Chatted with him a bit when I got my Animate panel serviced. Love the Animate, but if I had to choose a starter panel, the Animoo would be right up there at the top of the list with the R*S La Bestia II. [/quote] I actually still have a hard time deciding whethe...

...long story short, if you do not want your potentially awesome conversation with Rex to turn south and annoy him / get him cranky, then just don't bring up the custom panel subject, lol. Been there, done that!

Re: STS Serge

If you touch base with Rex, tell him that he should offer custom full panels once again. I think the market has evolved to where that would be a good bit of business for him. agree, wow that would be so cool. i really like the full panel format. i was speaking to him over mail as well little bit ab...

I have both. The Cirklon is not going to scratch that itch for you. It’s still totally great but fundamentally different feelings in use.

No it's always in note form. However, using the Aux events you can use numerical modifiers. Check out the Aux section in the manual.
ah ok interesting. thanks!

Re: Cirklon for a Roland MC4 User?

No, you change values with the rotary encoders. right. I can see those values visible in either text or (combined with) bar form, changeable with the encoder. The text value display can't be changed from c2, c3, etc. to just basic numbers, similar to the velocity values? (1, 2, 3, etc, up to 127) ....

Cirklon for a Roland MC4 User?

Hi all, in an odd predicament and want to ask the community here. I have the chance to buy a sequentix Cirklon, and this is quite attractive in uniting the two sections of my studio a bit better (analog / midi). I LOVE using the roland MC4 (with my analog gear) and I feel pretty fluent with the MC4 ...

Woa, thanks for the d'animator update! A very unique system in the serge-iverse. Did you just use a dremel for the carvings for the screen and sc card? they look precise, perhaps a milling setup. I like to think of this system as some kind of space sailor, who left off into the cosmic unknown only t...

Re: Filters of the classic synthesizers - an overview

Yeah fleshing out some more of the specific designers names I think is a good step as mentioned above. Also some of the basic filter specs such as db rolloff, 2 pole or 4 pole filter type etc. Also mentioning for instance the the ms20 is a resonant hp and resonant lp in series (I think?) for its dis...
