Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

Sorry it's taken so long, the panel layout is all fine mechanically. I'll include some jumpers for some mods, switching between white and filtered noise for both snare and HH for variety for example.

This really the one filter I have left on my wish list, seems like a playground of cool sounds. Just need some stock!

Re: Behringer TD-3

anyone using this as a cv/gate sequencer? wondering how it pans out like that and if the sync is ok from usb. Not sure about the USB side of things but the sequencer works fantastic, with one tiny issue in some setups. The gate output is missing a pulldown resistor so in very rare situations it won...

Re: Anyone here built an Antumbra Dist?

The schematic for version 1.2 isn't available but I'd be tracing back to the DC blocking cap on the output to check that's not shorted. I'm guessing the addition of U2 is to bring the level back up to modular levels but in V1.1 U1 is only powered by the positive rail. The output will need decoupling...

Baloran The Pool

Just saw this on Reddit, looks and sounds pretty damn great! pool.jpg http://youtu.be/hD5pZtfV8qw Seems they pulled the page but here's some info: Baloran The Pool hybrid synthesizer (alpha prototype 2021) - 2 analog VCOs (saw, tri, PW, PWM, extern) with range buttons 32′ – 4′), semi, tune, and FM -...

Re: mcp6002 question

I'm wary of even getting LEDs from Ali these days since last batch were utter crap, life's too short to deal with dodgy people.

The bug fixing time is worth much more than the original part from real stores.

(Rant over  )

Awesome! I've started the pcb, should be done in a day or 2. Can you post the mechanical co-ordinates of the jacks and pots?

Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

Should I do the PCB? SMD or through hole? I'm leaning towards SMD because of the parts count, but also because nothing here is a rare part, could be pre-soldered very cheaply for those who dont want DIY. It should fit on 2 boards using 0805/SOIC.

Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

That's great, I personally prefer the jacks together but in this case it's not a problem and very usable. LEDS can be added, I think easiest is to add another quad opamp as the envelops will need a buffer. Don't forget some graphics for noramlisation, one iput tied to the other 2, the outputs stack ...

Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

Looks great! 6hp is the way to go (at least) simply because there's a lot of parts, even if its smd it's gonna be a dense one. 2 boards at 6hp it could be through hole or smd with some wriggle room for us mere mortals to build. I'm a bit unhappy about the 5k pot for the filter, it's a guess based on...

Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

Here's the eagle schematic file but no board yet, it's completely untested so don't start layouts until at least the noise works! :guinness: Let me know if there's any library issues, I have an old Eagle install that seems to be way out of whack with current fresh install :hmm: Edit just to say some...

Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

That's what I'm thinking, 4hp of punchy analog drums based on the sound of the Monotribe. Keep it simple! There's only really space for 3 pots so I vote for one for hihat decay, one for noise color filter, and one for blend between body and that filtered noise for snare. That way you get some contro...

Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

Would trimmer pots save enough space? And are all the knob controls actually musically useful? I dont think it makes sense to expand this out, the extra sound shaping should at least be trimpots on the pcb though. It's a super simple circuit and changing a few values can make or break the sound. Ko...

Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

The 6004 is limited to 5V where as for the LM324/LM2902 is happy on any voltage. The 5V circuit is adjustable, there's no reason it has to be 5V as nothing here is critical. Might need some extra headroom for the noise circuit so I'd avoid anything limited to 5V

Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

Updated with the noise with the tunable filter from the tr-606. I've also given each comparator a different trip point so when their inputs are normalled together you can use a single voltage sweep to trigger each of the 3 drums :) Again untested, I will breadboard the noise section this weekend but...

Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

Here's my version, completely untested so please spot any errors. It is more or less a straight clone except for the noise source. I wanted to keep it to 2 quad opamps, it's worked out well with a 1+2+3 mixed out with switching jacks for the hats and kick. There's one spare opamp that can either be ...

Re: Monotribe Drums - Eurorack version?

I've looked at a few of the mods people like doing, decay is easy and a balance control for the snare noise/body. Added some conditioning on the inputs but might need to tweak some values to get the exact sound. Will post the schematic a bit later.

Yeah it looks like unless Moog is willing to help with the pinout it would take quite a bit of probing.
