people with cats: how do you store your patch cables?

serious question. I'd love to get a cable hanger but it'd be my cats' new favorite toy, and that I don't want.

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4

Just got my disting in and working on adding its manual to my big binder of module reference guides.

Wondering - is there an updated version of this cheatsheet? http://www.vo1t.com/Euro/Illustrated/ES ... k4V4.6.pdf

Re: uO_c 8hp ornament and crime.

Working on a couple uOCs and really need to work on my ability to drag solder ICs.

Had a couple issues with the DAC on both my boards and had to pull them. Looks like some of the traces are exposed in a way that they weren't previously. Are both these boards toast?

Re: alternate applications of reverb modules?

I very frequently use reverb as an all-pass filter. Set the predelay to zero and zero out the dry signal. that's an interesting one, will try it! Tom Erbe did mention using phase modulation in the feedback path to reduce/cancel howling too well shit, I was halfway through that talk the other day an...

Re: Mutable Music Things - Ears module

Not quite a necro thread ... Is there enough gain on the input to drive a Sennheiser MD441 - a dynamic mic that needs a lot of preamp usually. And guitar/instrument straight in is OK? Aren't there usually impedance issues? Thinking about the usual comparisons with the Doepfer A119 and also consider...

Holy crap!

My heart goes out to ya'll in Texas. That was brutal. We got a "once in 10 years" ice/snow storm here in PDX that shook things up, but nothing like what Texas saw.
What's "PDX"?
Portland - it's the airport code.

Re: Heads up: Mouser is fairly f'd right now

yeah... last week was kinda rough for us here. Quite likely mouser+most employees were without power, likely water, for most/all of last week. happens when your state government decides it wants to avoid basic regulations to save $ by not winterizing the power grid. and that's not even accounting fo...

Re: Recursive Machine Build Thread

hey all, another question about the power section. I was getting correct voltage amounts on the test points, but for some reason the -5v output started giving me only a little voltage (~under -.5v). I think I may have powered the RM with a center positive, rather than center negative, power supply. ...

I don't have one, but is it easy to update the firmware on a O_c (or uO_c) ? Yup, its just a matter of hooking up the module VIA USB and getting the pre-compiled firmware from GitHub and flashing it. The Arduino that is mounted on the back of the module is powered from the USB of your PC, so it doe...

What's the best way to learn how to troubleshoot circuits?

Doing some DIY work and enjoying it quite a bit, but I have no real electronics background and only a rudimentary understanding of the basics. I've been quite lucky so far in that most things I've built have worked without any real issue, but I'd like to get an understanding of knowing how to test c...

Re: Which delay module? Rainmaker - Sputnik - 4ms

I've had my eyes on the rainmaker for a while as well. There are a few used ones popping up here and there on modulargrid and here on muffs. Occasionally one on reverb but they don't seem to pop up there as often.

what are you doing now? that'll make it easier to suggest things that are not that (: in terms of eurorack effects that have stereo input, intellijel rainmaker and morphagene come to mind. if your question is - why go eurorack - the answer really is a) depth of customizability in terms of the effect...

Looking for a module with a bunch of faders that can have their output levels controlled, recorded, then looped (and potentially clocked).

Is there a module that does this?

Triple sloths seems like a good fit here. 11 different CV outs with three different speed (slow, slower, very slow) random voltage circuits.

Howdy, I'm building the RM and was wondering if there are schematics/measurements for a front panel? Something I could use for front panel express. For real. Also recommend, for those building, the nonlinearcircuits builders guild on FB. I posted a build I was troubleshooting last night and within 5 minutes of me posting it we had the problem figured out (my dumb ass had put the pin headers on the wrong side).

what is the voltage output range for the various outputs? Just want to make sure mine is working properly.
5v bipolar for the slower 2, 2v bipolar for the faster one, and 10v bipolar for the + and - outputs.
