Re: Filter recommendations for drums and percussion

I enjoyed the Hainbach D1000 video. A some of the sounds reminded me of my Doepfer Wasp low pass, resonance turned right up, freq low input high.

Probably bought the name or use of the name from whoever owns it. That would be the normal business way.

Re: Formant Filters for Throat Singing?

This video shows you how. You don't need the exact same modules. Use what you have and patch it up and experiment. Divkid is always doing formant sounds in his demo's, replicate his patches with what you have.

Re: Just getting going, help with a power supply

modulargrid.net . You can create a virtual rack fill it with modules you interested in and see how much power it draws on +12, -12 and 5 volts. Also the the size of modules hp, approx price etc. It has a "marketplace" for trading modules. If you are totally new to modular check out vcv rack. Its alm...

Re: Just getting going, help with a power supply

If you want used it depends where you are in the world, but on here there is Muffs BuySellTrade BST. Reverb, Modulargrid marketplace and ebay, probably Facebook groups too. A new Uzeus starts at 70 or 80 ish £ $ at Juno, Thomann, Perfect Circuit and many others in the USA. Buying secondhand and chea...

Re: Just getting going, help with a power supply

I powered my diy rack with a TipTop Uzeus. There are various versions of it. Just the power module and some ribbon connectors. You will need to buy your own wallwart a 2000 or 3000 mah. Normally easy to find on ebay and described as suitable for Uzeus. The next version comes with the walwart but its...

Re: Ochd or Sloths

Very interesting, thank you. Do you think a similar level of unpredictability can be had with two slow, unsynced VCLFOs whose rates are slowly modulated, that are then mixed together, maybe with seldom (attenuated) triggers/gates mixed in? Or maybe analog logic instead of a mixer, that was another ...

Re: Ochd or Sloths

I have a single sloth, the slowest version takes an hour to do a cycle although i have never timed it. It is an excellent module. I bought it secondhand as an unbuilt kit. Prior to getting it i would have avoided the slowest version thinking what use could it be? I was even tempted to change some of...

Re: What a used Natural Gate in VG condition looks like

I don't think its the aim of a lot of euro builders to turn into the next Korg. There must be a sweet spot of making a living and producing modules that you are happy with. Its very niche. Behringer may drop their euro stuff it makes no money? The market may always remain tiny? Some clips from a old...

Re: Individual module....dedicated power switch ?

Or 18 months of doing it the wrong way with no problems may suggest its not an issue? I think mskala simply pointed out the potential risks involved. In theory every module might break the next time you use it for various reasons. By patching a powered into an unpowered module you might increase th...

Re: Individual module....dedicated power switch ?

I have 3 Uzeus in one case and often turn it on patched up. All three will be cross patched. I flip the switches one by one they are directly above each other so it may take a second. I am doing exactly what i shouldn't and have been for 18 months or so. All modules seem fine so far. I could leave t...

TY for thoughts. I know cables and probably everything with modular is personal but the problem is I'm starting in the middle of a pandemic. It's good for the fact that I have some spare time to experiment, but it's bad because I can't get to my local store to test said cables you mentioned and see...

Re: What are your patching and unpatching strategies for your modular synth?

When i unpatch i usually start by removing various modulations first so there is still sound until near the end. Occasionally i pass through an unexpected sweet spot as i deconstruct. I have two piles of cables long/mediums and short/very short. No colour codes, all my cables are secondhand or DIY. ...

Re: LFOs, Envelopes - why no attenuation included?

If the VCA/attenuator is standalone it can be used with anything. If the VCA its built into a LFO or EG you cannot use it with other modules and the module will cost more and might be more hp. Having a LFO into a separate VCA is more flexible, more modular, more possibilities.

You have quite a few utilities already. Maybe make a list of what functions you have covered by you existing gear. You have the Doepfer quad VCA mixer which looks excellent. Looking at the patch bay of the Neutron you have another VCA with an in and out. Two envelopes , Sample and hold. You have mul...

Disting Mk4 Shift register Random CV's, Random quantized CV's, random triggers, random dual triggers, sample and hold, chaos and lot more. Perfect for a small rack. £140
Doepfer A-118-1 random CV (can be moded to have 2 outs), white, pink noise. Secondhand £25-35 would be a good price.

Channel 2 and 3 of Maths can attenuvert like like the Befaco module but its handy to have more utilities like this so i wouldn't say don't get the Befaco. Have you had a look at the Takaab LPG, very popular and cheap for euro.

You have a tonne of stuff already i wouldn't buy anything else until you know how to use what you have. Well apart from components and stuff to get your DIY pcb and panels built. If you have not patched much up yet you probably won't have enough cables but that will become apparent as you learn more...

With the Power Consumption coming up as: 1124 mA +12V | 180 mA -12V | 0 mA 5V How do you think the Doepfer DIY Kit would cope with that? I can see it's under the 1200mA mark but a little too close? I wouldn't want to run into problems due to lack of power :( Thanks in advance! :) A Tiptop Uzeus is ...

At first glance eurorack cases and power do seem like they are expensive but my theory is Behringers own cases prove they are not. Are the Behringer cases half the price of than the competition? No they are cheaper but not by a large margin. Behringers own chinese factory, economies of scale, global...

How the customer expects the module to arrive is mint condition and fully working. You can achieve that some of the time with a padded envelope, most of the time with a single box and almost 100% successfully with double boxing. Double boxing is the way to go as proven by the established successful ...

I got my clouds clone in December and love it. I don't have any other reverbs so just for that it gets constant use and probably why i couldn't imagine selling it.
