Pam's only quantizes its own internal voltages/sequences, it does not perform external quantizer functions.

Re: DivKid RND STEP

@analogpedagog - Just wanted to say congrats on this module :) I remember looking up S&H's last year and discovering the common issue with hysteresis (which I am assuming is the same as "droop") - so what you accomplished here seems like quite an impressive feat. Haven't tried the module yet, but I ...

Re: The Tempest Is Dead, Long Live The Tempest

From the other tempest vs rytm thread since it has apparently been abandoned :) I originally had a Tempest in 2012, and had a pretty good time with it, but sold it after about a year, both because it was insanely buggy at the time and I wanted to fund travel (yeah, I went backpacking in Peru for 2 m...

Re: Soma Dvina

I have spent a little time with a Violin (cat screaming etc) and more time with an Erhu - which to me seems like a main historical precedent to the Dvina - and would definitely say the two-string/sitting/Erhu style is much easier. Can't say much about a cello though (: Consider that with two strings...

Stereo Dipole + Tides V2. Swirling headspaces, Reich-like quadrature plucking, audio rate insanity... then of course using Tides as an oscillator through the Dipole is a whole other world of madness. :)

Re: Firewire 410 interface

I still use a firewire mixer (mackie onyx 1620i - mixer with firewire interface) with a thunderbolt adapter to my iMac. It's functional but not totally without glitches or issues. I personally wouldn't update to newer a newer OS though, I'm sure it would complicate things further. (mojave) So, adapt...

Re: Something new from Soma

Just popping in here again to see how people are getting along with their instrument, or if anyone else who has received one has any other impressions to share. :) It’s a real pleasure to play, it’s so easy to hold and handle and it’s not difficult to get smooth long bowed notes from it. My playing...

Re: Definitive "how to multitrack record your Eurorack"

Really interesting to see all the ways people try and accomplish this. I had a 'studio' set up before a 'modular' set up, so mixers and multi-tracking have been staples all along. The most simple and efficient for me is to use 1/8" to 1/4" cables to a mackie onyx firewire mixer (yes, FIREWIRE!) goin...

Re: New MakeNoise module: Mimeophon

You're right, it is expected behaviour - it's just that it's so audible when it happens that it makes modulating it in such ways mostly untenable. Maybe that's just me, though. :despair:

Re: New MakeNoise module: Mimeophon

Interesting, it isn't the noise floor the bothers me, but the audible clicks and pops that go into the feedback path when either flip or hold is ON and then ON/OFFing the other.

Re: Modular and external gear: Your success stories

I love this sort of thing, and try to make my full set up as 'modular' and inter-connectable as possible. Mainly using a small eurorack, a Grandmother, a DSI Tempest and Poly Evolver. -The DSI synths both have 2x CV inputs with assignable mod destinations, so using a 1/8 to 1/4 inch cable is necessa...
