blofeld is a killer synth to begin
An1x same, used of course and it is quite cheap.
or you can save just a bit more money and with 600 go with a digitone for fm sounds or a digitackt if you like to sample anything and a sequencer!

i have the shapeshifter and sounds amazing and it can deliver dual vco , complex, lfos, waveshape, warping, tilting, wavetable , logaritmic, vocoder... wow so many things and is my center of my system and is not just for drones, is possible also to use it for drums... i am in a similar position like...

tempest is pita to program Fact, rytm can easly jump on different drums or kits with seconds Fact, Tempest or Rymt sound better or worst ... opinions... not Fact!
