Re: Anyone here own a Haken Continuum ?

I got confirmation mine shipped today, should be with me by the end of Friday - very exciting! Apparently mine is the last batch of the kickstarter orders.

Looking forward to running the Continuum through it (as well as everything else) :hyper:

Re: Anyone here own a Haken Continuum ?

Latest update on the Onde as of this morning is promising, but for my batch (I ordered the luxury finish) I'm guessing more likely next month than this month... Yeah my Onde is a way off. I originally ordered in December but had to cancel in March. I only just re-ordered, including a stand. We’ll h...

Hey Gosh, yes, that would be great!

I'm also waiting on my Onde - hopefully this month... (I've been thinking the same thing for the past 12 months or so... lol)

Re: Anyone here own a Haken Continuum ?

Yes - the big one but time to upgrade it. Later in the year I will send it to Lippold for updates. Its different to the Roli and VAX77. The feel and response is different - its great for modulars. Especially Kyma Pacarana. I am interested to understand the nature of the upgrade (more DSP? or new ac...

Re: Lyra-8 'Organismic' ambient synthesizer

Finally put the finishing touches (ie knobs) on my diy Lyra-8. Oh it's the absorbing unruly beauty I had hoped for. Earlier track performed, knobless, below. Others under the same profile. I record them for me, as if a tree falls and nobody hears it, at least the tree knew it fell. But hells, if so...

Re: Lyra-8 'Organismic' ambient synthesizer

Long time reader/lurker over here, first post. Here is a video that I made with just the Lyra, on my Youtube channel there are more videos which feature the Lyra, some of them in a more subtle way, surrounded by other instruments/sounds. This is just the Lyra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqT3wp...

We need a Continuum thread, such an amazing instrument.

it's here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=102207
Thanks - and I see I had even posted in it. Amazing what a couple of months of lockdown will do for the cognative faculties

Re: Polysynths - Wanted - vibe over facts - Experience over spec

2020 reboot. Any recent poly thoughts? Prologue 16 - user coded digital oscillators and effects, plus built in analogue voices and filters and compressor... it is a constantly evolving instrument being driven by the enthusiasm and expertise of its users - what's here already is great + almost unlim...

Re: Polysynths - Wanted - vibe over facts - Experience over spec

No idea if it counts as a poly synth but getting a Haken Continuum was life changing. It just sounds and feels amazing. Programming it is very different but rewarding (all done on an attached computer, patching is Synthi pegboard style but with formulas instead of pegs). It can create sounds that s...

Re: Lyra-8 'Organismic' ambient synthesizer

I have a question for the owners. I’ve been following this thing for a while and love the idea, but most of the videos and tracks I’ve heard sit in the mid-to-high range of the spectrum. Can it do bass drones well? I tend toward the lower end of the spectrum in my music. just for an idea how low al...

Re: U.D.O. Super 6 hybrid "binaural" poly

Given George's experience working in the F1, medical-instruments and aviation industries, I would be surprised if there are any more bugs in the Super 6 than one would find in any new synth or other product. The Paul Dither interview posted above is very reassuring from this perspective, and goes in...

Re: Lyra-8 'Organismic' ambient synthesizer

I've really enjoyed the Lyra content on this thread, and I wanted to share something with you all here. Since last fall I have been working on writing a new score to an old German silent film, Nosferatu , which is one of the first vampire films. I used a Nord Drum 3P for percussion (along with a lo...

Re: Lyra-8 'Organismic' ambient synthesizer

Prologue -> Lyra Reface YC -> Lyra Subsequent 37 -> Lyra https://youtu.be/ke6fgpftwnw That digital organ sounds really good through the Lyra fx. It's really been a revelation for me how much better the Lyra can make almost ANY instrument sound, especially those which can sound too "digital" / clean...

Re: Lyra-8 'Organismic' ambient synthesizer

Has anybody tried to power the Lyra 8 with a USB power bank and a 12V step-up adapter (like the Rip-Cords)? With its low 200mA power consumption the Lyra shouldn’t drain those too quickly, I’d assume. Also, does it work with 9V too? I've used this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075QZQSS1/ref...

Re: Re:

Some days I teeter on the brink of selling the Moog. I found myself dreaming of a Lyra 8 and thought is that really a true thing. There is often so much buzz about new synths I forget how much I can do with what I have. So I decided to approach the Moog differently. [video]http://www.youtube.com/wa...
