Re: Hello Hordijk System

If anyone's interested, will be posting Hordijk stuff to our instagram - https://www.instagram.com/sandshairy/ We have a few nice modular things in our studio - bunch of Euro, R*S Serge XL boat, Buchla easel, Korg 2600FS. Each has its place, but so far the Hordijk is resonanting the strongest with m...

Re: Hello Hordijk System

First couple of hours with the system last night. Head spinning - it's going to take a long, long time.

One practical question - I looked around to find out where Hordijk gets his patch cables but couldn't figure it out. Does anybody know?

Re: modern cv/gate recorder?

I use the ES-9 and ES-8 to record CV/gates into Logic. Once in Logic you have access to all the usual tools - editing, crossfading. Just works.

The long wait is finally coming to end. The two systems we ordered on February 28th, 2019 are ready to ship. This is a nice shot of them getting burned in his studio:

Like those slimline cases. Are these now standard or special request @swannodette?
Not special. It's the same case manufacturer as before but they now offered an all black option and Rob preferred the look and recommended them.

Re: How do you use cross fading?

After using the the 0-coast for a while, I really like cross fading to just design the sound. 0-coast gets you really thinking about get timbral changes without a filter - i.e. Contour into balance. Now I'm seeing a lot more options for sound shaping with envelopes on all my synths (where there's a ...

I also think a Make Noise 0-CTRL or Random*Source Eurorack Serge TKB would be a lot of fun too.

Re: Eurorack and SuperCollider

Who's using SuperCollider or similar programming languages and what's your solution for integrating them with Eurorack? ES-8 or ES-9 would be my recommendation. With either of these options, integration with SuperCollider becomes straightforward for CV or audio signals. Everything I could think of ...

Re: Hello Hordijk System

What are you using to sequence your modular? I don’t want a960 clone, more something like the metropolis or Five 12 vector, is there such a sequencer in 5u? Or can I convert say the vector to 5u, change the plate and the jack, is that possible? Based on his videos, it seems Rob was also quite pleas...

Re: Make Noise 0 Coast

Have many people picked up the 0-Coast after modular rather than the other way around? I have a MN 7U of euro, a MN skiff, a Grandmother, and a Korg 2600 FS. Most of the big stuff is kept at my studio and I was wanting something portable both for home and travel. My collaborator had one and after u...

Re: Make Noise 0-Ctrl

yes. hence my failed attempt at adjusting the trimmer … maybe sending the gate output to an inverter would help… i’ll have to try that. still not ideal to necessitate polarization in the signal chain every time, though I don't have my 0-CTRL handy. But yes obviously you could shape ALL gate output ...

Re: Make Noise 0-Ctrl

I just want to be able to manually retrigger a gate output from a single stage (rather than from GATE ALL) while it is active. e.g. I select stage (key) 7, it outputs its gate. While it is active, I select it again and the same gate signal is sent. etc. For now, I am unable to achieve this relative...

Re: how do you practice?

I've been pondering this a bit myself based on my piano/guitar practice. As you say when you practice a traditional instrument you're not always working on pieces, sometimes you're focusing on technical problems. I've discovered that when I jam on my modular this tends to be unfocused - similar to j...

I was wondering if anyone could you clarify this a bit more? does this mean that voltages out of the A, B, C, D outputs will all by quantized in semitone steps
I believe this applies *only* to the KEY output. This is what I remember when I tried it at PatchPoint in Berlin.

Been experimenting a lot with using Laurie Spiegel's Music Mouse in a live improvised performance setting. Currently we're using a Prophet VS, 9U of Eurorack Modular, and a 4ms Pod with a Spherical Wave Table Navigator. Music Mouse was create...
