Re: Delay, Distortion & Wavefolding

Sounds like the Lyra will do what I want, and you all seem happy with it... I see more YouTube research in my future.

Any thoughts on wave folders?

Re: Delay, Distortion & Wavefolding

The Lyra8-FX has a nice delay. What do you mean when you say that you’re not sure about the ”patch-ability”? What do you feel it’s missing? Thanks. The crush delay had a send & return and the nostalgia has it's stage outs that you could route back through one of the inputs. The lyra8 seems to have ...

Delay, Distortion & Wavefolding

I'm suffering from a bit of decision paralysis at the moment. I want to add delay, distortion and wave folding to my rack, but keep going round in circles when trying to pick a good set the complement each other. The options that I'm thinking about most are: Delays: * Dreadbox Nostalgia (love the so...

I use a Korg mini chaos pad 2 as my extra / portable FX unit. Battery powered or plugged in.

Re: Looking for a midi interface.

Mio devices are pretty decent. Usb, usb host (use a powered hub for more), Ethernet midi and plenty of din midi.

I've got the 4 but would get the 10 if I needed more io.

Re: Tape for labeling gear?

Artist tape doesn't leave residue, but peels up a bit too easily.

I want to try console labelling tape, but it's even more expensive than artist's tape.

300ma (it says it on the back, above the connector).
I've got mine running off a guitar pedal power supply, along with a shred master, super phaser and DD-3. It makes a nice chain to play with.

Re: Squarp Pyramid - New sequencer etc.

You want to use patterns. They're a bit awkward (no specific button, I don't think they existed when the Pyramid was launched). Press 2nd + Track and select Ptn (you need to do this for each track you want patterns for). Then to select / change patterns, go to the track you want, then press Step + T...

Re: Sequencer For Digital Synthesizer Ensemble

One thing that would put me off the Social Entropy Engine is availability. It isn't made any more.

You could always buy 2 Pyramids and copy the SD cards for an easy swap if something goes wrong.

Re: Sequencer For Digital Synthesizer Ensemble

Have a look at the Squarp Pyramid - it might do what you want. It only has one CV/Gate/Env out, but has 2 midi outs, 1 midi in and USB MIDI if you need it. I use mine with a BSP to get 3 CV/Gate/Env and 8 Trigger outs in total (and a MIO4 connected via USB for extra MIDI sockets) You can import/expo...

Re: Audio Interface - How to choose?

I've been thinking about this recently and my (probably future) choice is the MOTU 828es . It has 2 pre-amp / guitar inputs on the front. 8 Line at the back. 8 Line outs on TRS. 2 outs on XLR, 2 headphone outs. It also has AVB so you/I can connect 24AI/24AO/16A at some point in the future. It suppor...

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

I’ve bought and paid for my TD3 Feb 8th, but still haven’t gotten it yet. Anyone else in Canada in the same boat? I bought mine in December and it arrived early February. It's more to do when the next batch (of your colour) is manufactured. DV247 is saying mid March to early April depending on vers...

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

After accidentally overwriting a pattern twice - I searched for a 303 Pattern sheet https://1.bp.blogspot.com/_rScBRKlTdoE/TND3N1YrAGI/AAAAAAABsOg/SXbWXt56anU/s1600/gview.png . Hopefully I won't have that problem again. I've also found the Tiny Loops 303 tutorial useful. It's a lot clearer than the ...

Re: Rack mounted FX

MIDIVerb II is great, lo-fi and a bit limited.

I have an Lexicon MPX-1 it's a lot more in depth but comes with 199 presets. Plenty going on in there from nice reverbs to weird pitch shifting.

I'm looking for a Zoom 1204, mostly for the vocoder...

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

how is everyone enjoying their TD-3? Great so far. Just got it yesterday and learning my way around the sequencer and working out the best way to sync it. So far it seems like: Squarp Pyramid -> BSP Purple channel trigger -> TD-3 sync in So I can change rhythms, timings, and start and stop on the f...

Re: Squarp Pyramid - New sequencer etc.

I like the touchpad. I often have the y controlling for cut off over CV and X for panning something else.

It's handy being able to either record the modulation changes, play them in real-time or free up an LFO/sample and hold.

I think I have a mk3. It looks the same anyway. I bought it a few months ago though.

I don't think there is anything different other than the silk screen. It still has the old style mini usb connector.

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

Kattefjaes - according to the docs. it doesn't look like it will do what you want. In the section Patchbay (3.5 mm TS input and output connections) it says: SYNC IN - this input allows the use of an external clock and start/stop signal. So, the input is TS. I guess the start/stop signal is the prese...

Re: Need some hardware sequencer recommendations.

I have a Yamaha RM1X (related to the QY700) and a Squarp Pyramid.

When I was reading your post, the Pyramid really stuck out as meeting your requirements. You can do it with the RM1X too (minus the clock out), but it is a lot more cumbersome than the Pyramid.

I use a Yamaha RM1X too. I only use it for the sequencer. I have the midi linked up to a MIO4 and that connected to a BSP (used for midi to cv), s5000, jv1080, emu pk6 and a bunch of effects chained of it.

It doesn't look like autorec is the right thing either CC ASSIGN AUTOREC OFF / AUTOREC ON With autorec on, as soon as you assign a CC control and move it to set the value, an automation message is created to store this value (you can display it or remove it in step mode CC MES-SAGES). This message w...

Re: Question about squarp pyramid midi CC learn function

You can assign a knob/touch pad to an external midi cc. Hold assign twist/slide then go to the midi cc option and select the right cc. You can use an external controller to control anything you can with an internal controller. Hold assign and twist/whatever the external controller. The same menu sho...
