Re: Doepfer A-135-2 Quad VCA
I don't have an A-135-2 but I have two of the A-141-4, which also has 4 jacks across in 8 HP. The jack spacing is very slightly narrower than a row of Tiptop Stackcables. You can plug four into one module comfortably enough, but if you have two such modules side by side you can't plug 8 stackcables ...

Re: Befaco Chopping Kinky!
I got out my Chopping Kinky (which is a Befaco factory build I got as a warranty replacement, so hopefully it's exactly as intended) and hooked up an oscilloscope, and both channels are phase inverted, but they are also both bipolar. ck.jpg The faint lines indicate the zero volts level. Top trace is...

Re: Befaco Chopping Kinky!
The phase that you get out will depend on the input signal amplitude and gain knobs (labeled 2A/B in the manual ) — at high settings a single "hump" will become many swings up and down, and the phase of the middle will vary wildly depending on the gain. That's the nature of high levels of wavefoldin...

Re: Attenuating Mod Depth
Never heard of that module, but from the description, sure. The matrix mixer mode says it can "transpose", which is a fancy word for adding an offset.

Re: Attenuating Mod Depth
Offsets can come from any of lots of "CV processor" modules: for example, half of Mutable Blinds or all of Befaco A*B+C is perfect for this because each channel has an offset and an incoming CV scaler. Intellijel Quadratt (1U) would also work, because it's four cascading channels you can split into ...

Re: Attenuating Mod Depth
To adjust the depth, it's probably not reducing the LFO amplitude, the way I've been trying to go at it earlier, it's probably just not allowing each channel to fully "close" all the way as has been suggested by others in this thread. “Not closing all the way” is accomplished by applying an offset....

Re: Attenuating Mod Depth
Remember that panning more towards the middle means you need both VCA/LPG channels partly on . This means you need CV offsets. The easiest way to set this up is with a bipolar LFO (wave goes both positive and negative), and two channels of attenuvert+offset. Patch the offsets to the LPGs, then turn ...

Re: Arturia rackbrute cases
I regret to inform you that neither will fit.
Measuring to the nearest quarter-inch: The handle is just under 20.25" long (wide). The RackBrute 6U itself is 19.25" W by just over 11.75" H by just over 3.25" D — plus however tall your modules' knobs are.

Re: DC coupled, resonant, Low freq VCF for CV slewing/ringing?
Before looking for a specialized filter, try putting negative voltage into your existing filters' frequency CV and see how far you can push them slower.
“DC accurate” for pitch may be harder to find, though.

Re: Stacking non-simultaneous input signals?
No signal can become "too hot" this way, if by that you mean too high voltage for the input. Stacking/multing more than one signal doesn't add them. What it does is wire the outputs to each other so they get to fight over what the output voltage should be. Higher currents result because they're "pul...

Re: Making a envelope hold midway.
If you want the envelope to resume rising after you stop it, then I think what you want is a slew-limiter style envelope module which can be paused — the one that comes to mind is Joranalogue Contour 1 (in Eurorack) with its HOLD input, and I see someone else pointed out Make Noise Function. If you ...

Re: 4ms Pods
their own website currently indicates that 40hp is the smallest one with the extra depth, They probably forgot to update that mention! Let them know! I'll hold out until they give the 20hp that extra depth; Don't hold your breath. I wouldn't be surprised if each specific size of Pod requires making...

Re: 4ms Pods
I've owned over a dozen Pods (modular modular synth!) and had one manufacturing defect (some holes were mis-drilled so they wouldn't hold screws at all) and 4ms replaced that one. All of the others have had perfect holes. Sometimes the sides need a bit of a squeeze to get the spacing between the top...

Re: hilarious 1HP modules / ideas
A few previous posts have mentioned “credit card slot”, and I just thought of a practical use for something like that and passive: reference cards/cheat sheets for your modules. If using the actual standard credit card form factor, two slots stacked would fit comfortably between the rails, and perha...

You can get multi-track hardware recorders such as the Zoom H4 or H6. (The H6 will record 6 tracks with the optional line-in accessory replacing the microphone.)

Re: Eurorack shops
I visited Patchwerks while I was on a trip in 2019. They were very friendly, and had about (guess from my current memory) 1200 HP of modules out for demo, including a Make Noise Shared System, a smaller Doepfer system, and a row-ful of Recovery Effects modules.

Re: 4ms Pod with a lid?
[oops, didn't mean to create a separate post, oh well]
Another option would be to 3D print a lid for a Pod. It's a quite easy shape to make, given a printer with a large enough bed.

Re: 4ms Pod with a lid?
If you like the shape of the Roland case then you might like Damaru x Elevator Sound Eurorack Modular Travel Case . Unpowered, lid, rounded corners, custom orderable in 50 mm depth. (I don't own one; I was just shopping around for an idea of replacing my main case with a set of swappable 84HP rows, ...

Re: DivKid RND STEP
Perhaps the problem is timing? Any sample-and-hold, no matter how good at sampling it is, placed after a sequencer or other stepped CV source will produce "wrong" results if the sampling is performed at the same time the CV source is in the middle of shifting to a new value. The test/workaround for ...

Re: Arpeggiate via MIDI
In the patches in the video, the third MIDI interface V/OCT output is not even patched to the Chainsaw, so it must be doing something else than providing a third note to Chainsaw, but I can't see where it might be going. The gate cables are also mysterious — there must be an envelope generator somew...

You should reposition the jumper so that it goes from center to the top pin marked PMOD instead of the center to the bottom pin marked LMOD.

Unfortunately, Make Noise seems to specify the depth of their modules ignoring the power connector sticking out. I found a picture of the back of a DPO and it appears to be two stacked boards with a straight power connector on the rear board. Any module with two stacked boards (of the typical stacki...

Re: A-111-4 Quad Precision VCO
Yes, if you're always playing 4 notes together you can use the mix outputs for that. (And if you want to play 3 or 2, you can put a dummy cable into the corresponding output of the oscillators you're not using to remove them from the mix.) Note that the mix outputs are attenuated, presumably to avoi...
