Re: Alternatives to Rings in 2020

Since OP mentions BBD and analogue, I would suggest Doepfer A-188 1024 or 2048 stages. Though it takes patching and relies on external modules for processing audio input, it's one of the most diverse and interesting sounding analogue delays out there. It gets into Karplus territory with very organic...

Re: [Shipping] - Euro Panel/Kit for Serge Resonant EQ Mk. II

I got around to building my second one of these recently (the last one was like four or five y.a.) and mounted/reversed the polarity for a keyway power header - I plugged it in and I assume I fried it. Does anyone know what needs to get replaced downstream? I have the 10 replacement IC's for the top...

Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] synthCube acquires Blacet Research

Following other suggestions, i.e. keeping alive (porting to other format) the stuff that was unique and transcends (sadly i had to sell all my blacet some years ago): 1) Porting to Euro - using SMD parts to make smaller and less deep -or- sideways mount PCB/skiff friendly? 2) Time Machine (amazing a...

just learning about this from synthcube email about porting stock to their site (i haven't been on muffs in some time). i learned more about electronics and snythesis from building his modules than any other place - he was committed not only to creating a really fun, unique and playable system for c...

Prophet 6 Midi Clock Out?

anybody had any luck with this? I want to set the P6 arp/seq midi out as a master clock --> modular but not having much luck. sparse support on the interwebs (that i can find). i'm using a doepfer a-190-4 for midi to cv (which may be the problem). so far the a-190-4 only receives trigger keyboard me...

loving this a lot - brilliant work!

a couple questions - is it possible to be in dual mono and record and monitor to one channel while playing back a file from the other simultaneously? also, would it be possible to give 'length' more range (for longer samples)?

Digital audio interface recommendations

I am setting up 5.1 sound reinforcement for a public video presentation at a museum and need recommendations for a good multi-channel all purpose digital audio interface - ideally with Thunderbolt or USB2 that outputs balanced analogue. The piece is being driven by a fully loaded MacMini running Qui...

in my recent build attempt i ran into a snag - literally! i waited to install the T2 IC because i like to use water-clean solder and wanted to wash up before doing the smd. when i applied the heat to the IC it didn't land right, and as i attempted to de-solder/remove i lifted and tore off one of the...

i ordered and built two of these from synthcube kits. first one had no sound when plugged in, except really low frequencies pushing out whenever I moved the output attenuator pot. I figured I must have fuc*ed something up, so I built the second one and same issue. i ran them on two power busses (one...

Well said. When we started this project, the Modcan was much on our minds and we set out to distinguish our product from theirs and complement, rather, than compete to it head-on. Had we known that Modcan were (sadly) about to exit the market, we might well have done some things differently. I have...

Too bad you sold the Modcan - that's by far one of the best straight up delays for modular ever made (imo). I have that and have been rocking the DLD for about a week now and am totally loving it. I would argue that the DLD is not really so much a straightforward delay, more like a rhythmically func...
