OK I sort of worked around this problem. I wasn't able to find a hardware solution after testing the audio output circuit for soldering issues. However interesting to note is that the 2017 firmware's pitch knob actually controls the frequency of the unwanted buzzing, which is interesting because it ...

Try adding some good (low ESR) capacitors at some tactical places (close to components that are switching with higher currents). Maybe you (or whom ever built the module) used cheep capacitors might be the cause for your problem. https://www.avnet.com/wps/portal/abacus/resources/engineers-insight/a...

What about this idea: is it possible to remove the power coming from my main modular power bus to the Teensy by cutting the connection to the VCC pin, then solely power the Teensy always via USB cable (and bridge the USB trace once again)? Or with USB power trace cut, redirect VCC and ground on the ...

Re: Radio Music SD Card Buzzing/Noise problem possible fix

And someone even recorded the buzz...! http://www.ledseq.com/downloads/buzz.wav This is exactly the same as my issue! To be clear, what you define a buzz, is it what we hear from 0 to 1 and 9 to 11 seconds or the rest inbetween (highpitched sound)? The rest in between. Not the white noise but a pul...

Re: Radio Music SD Card Buzzing/Noise problem possible fix

In my case I solved the issue by making sure I was using the ground connections on the audio board to connect to the ground connection on line in / line out jacks, and all other ground went via the regular GND connection on the Teensy (except for analog input ground which are smoother if you use AG...

Well, seems like a lot has changed over the years: turns out there seems to be a spiritual successor to the uScale!? https://intellijel.com/shop/eurorack/scales/ I wonder if this issue (er, UX quirk) is present in the new module. If it allows the second output to follow the scale of the first in sca...

Radio Music SD Card Buzzing/Noise problem possible fix

So I saw a few posts in the main Radio Music project thread about buzzing/noise with their builds. This is also happening to me, only when the SD card is accessed and playing a file. I'm not sure how widespread this issue is. Anyway I decided to make a separate topic about it since one doesn't exist...

Basically it is usable for triggering at the same rate as the CV change (constant change). One hacky workaround would be to make a "silent" track at the start to simulate "don't play on this beat". I don't understand the "constant change", because with the method I described, the station change via...

Finally I fixed it (at least enough so that it's usable for me). After some schematic checking and poring over the code I wagered that if I changed the reset CV to fire on a FALLING clock edge rather than RISING which is what it currently is, it would give enough time to "catch" the station CV chang...

One possible explanation (if I understand the problem correctly) is that the module driving the Radio Music (the sequencer or whatever) sends the gate signal before the CV has settled. When a sequencer moves from one step to the next, the CV will always take some small fraction of a second to move ...

OK I did some more testing and think I understand why it sort of solves the problem. These settings do not rely on the Reset trigger CV at all. It changes the station when the CV changes. I am not sure why that would be more accurate than waiting for a Reset trigger. It seems the combination of the ...

Oh my goodness!! That COMPLETELY solved the problem. You're a lifesaver! Why does this work??

My Teensy version is 3.2 and my trigger CV has been tested with: Erica Synths Pico Trigger, Sputnik 5-step voltage Source Pulse OUT (variable pulse width, tried various widths). No idea if this is relevant but FYI I am in Japan and they don't use ground: https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthre...

I tested it a bit more and found another possible cause: the Reset CV does not always trigger a change on the Station, but it still triggers the file to actually play the sample from the beginning. This results in the "getting stuck behavior" where the Station CV is changing but the file that is pla...

You might consider trying a higher quality SD card? Probably not bigger than the 32GB size talked about in the build docs, I don't know if there is any discussion about larger sizes causing issues, but food for thought... Thanks for the suggestion. I think I have a good brand name SD card like SanD...

Radio Music CV (Station/Reset) sometimes selects wrong file

I have two Radio Music modules (Rev 2.1 boards, latest 2017_2 firmware, loaded with WAV files) and both have this same issue: inputting a stepped CV (e.g. Turing machine or sequencer) into the Station CV jack does indeed change the channel, but sometimes it gets "confused" or "stuck" and fails to sw...

I've pinged them several times but no response. I even sent them this video: https://vimeo.com/214947494 Wow thanks for making a video explanation, that's EXACTLY what I described in the OP. However, sadly too little too late. it came to the point where I had to sell my uScale due to this bug, so I...

If there isn't enough space for integration of both parasites and kammerl, I'd gladly do away with looping delay and pitch shifter modes to be able to have either the original or parasites' clouds mode, kammerl's beat repeat and wavepicker, and resonestor and oliverb from parasites. +1 for integration with parasites, also would be great to have faster switching between modes, like again in parasites Also I noticed that I get lots of clicks in beat-repeat mode - any way to avoid that, other than switching to 8 bit? Also, when switching to 8 bit - all audio starts to be 8 bit, e...

A bit off topic question - is it possible in regular granular clouds mode to have zero pre delay? Like if the position knob is fully anticlockwise and mix is 50% wet - it plays somewhat in sync with a dry input signal? Or there's hardware limitations to it? It will be amazing for live setup and tri...
