Re: U.D.O. Super 6 hybrid "binaural" poly

:)

Actually, George was very fast answering my email: you switch on the Super 6 while holding down PATCH. Then its drives mount as writable.

Windows keeps informing me the Super 6 drive is write protected.
Same problem on my Mac laptop. How do you mount it as writable?

Re: Waldorf Kyra FPGA Synth: 128 voices, 10 Osc/voice!

Has anyone heard about a possible rack conversion for this? Looks like this and Iridium are the exact same form factor, and I would love to get the massive desk space back. does this have a Vesa mount on the back? the Iridium does. Eh? Mine has a VESA mount. At least I presumed that's what those 4 ...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer

People without Fluxes are posting for tutorials in addition to all the playing examples available, so apparently there's some confusion and questions out there. In the absence of systematic tutorials, I just thought it would be worth clarifying that all these mentions of "one step" producing long an...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer

The videos Flux 22 and MSS009 are made with one single step. It’s almost impossible to make people aware of what that really means, because before Flux (and with anything else which is not Flux) we don’t thought that one single step can make anything enjoyable. In a traditional sequencer, the first...

Can someone recommend a video where the the basic functionality and philosophy is described?
Search YouTube for "IOLabs Flux 01," then in order up to "IOLabs Flux 26" for FriendlyVoice's tutorials and demo performances.

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer

when combining the DRM1 with Flux, the DRM1 will stop responding once the triggers reach a certain speed. The DRM1 can't handle very fast triggers, it will stop responding or only allow an occasional trigger through (like 1 in 50-100 at certain speeds). It responds perfectly well up to a point Well...

Re: Dave Smith Sequential Circuits Prophet X

I beg for mercy, not word games. How about this: Is there anyone who has hands-on experience verifying on a Prophet X that, when using a microtuning, samples also get adjusted the same way, that the Prophet X plays back the same microtuned note as the synth voice that sounds when you press a key on ...

Re: Dave Smith Sequential Circuits Prophet X

I would contact the manufacturer for the greatest degree of certainty. Thanks for your help. If you don't mind, can you please allow someone who owns a Prophet X to respond because I'm afraid this straightforward question is getting derailed. Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer

I hear you---"square" was for lack of a better term---but consider, for example, Eloquencer's ratchet mode: nine types, all duplet or triplet. Jeez, that's mighty slim pickin's if you ask me. If limitations are good, then this is too much of a good thing...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer

Personally, I think that Flux works well in conjunction with a more traditional sequencer. Yeah, I've thought that the combo might be useful, but I'm concerned (in advance) that the Eloquencer's square rhythms will just end up being an annoying rather than desirable companion to the Flux's rhythmic...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer

Thanks. I guess my personal reaction is, aside from the Eloquencer's 8 channels vs. Flux's 4, none of the Eloquencer's other differences makes much difference to me. And then, as you said, the bottom line is that Flux is revolutionary. I expect, also, Flux could be used in a conservative way if nece...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer

Yes, I understand Flux because I have one and have been using it. I'm asking if there's anyone with experience using an Eloquencer who can compare beyond saying that it's different. I mean, I already know they're different (hence my question).

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer

Befaco VCMC is a keeper Any comparisons with Eloquencer when used in conjunction with its MIDI expansion? Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer

Sounding great. :-) People are too kind! As you see from the photo, I stole FriendlyVoice's idea of using a Befaco VCMC to interface with my MIDI gear. It's not an inexpensive setup, but it's a very compact way to improvise sequencing as if you're playing an instrument, as opposed to your standard ...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer

"PER" would also work for period if you need to save a char (is the Greek letter tau available?). Likewise, "WAV" for wave. I think "wave" is a bit better than "LFO," but it's not a big difference. How about "shape"? It fits in with the evolve idea. Then you could use "SHP". Very nice indeed! That's...
