Re: Post pics of your euro setup! - RESIZE YOUR PHOTOS PLEASE

Here's my system, really happy with it! I was going for a mostly self-contained techno-system with a lot of room for experimentation. I'll probably add a TipTop Hats909 and maybe a Lapsus os but that's about it 8-) Good stuff! how do you use the keystep? Thanks! A lot of the time I actually just us...

Re: Noise Engineering Loquelic Iteritas

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGOZXm_Uqo0 Here's a quick video I recorded today, a wild LI appears at 1:33. I got the LI just a few weeks ago and lately I've been using it a lot for percussive bleeps and blops by sending it through an Optomix with a very short envelope. I got some really interesti...

Re: Krell

Krell patch featuring DPO --> Optomix bongos and some supporting percussion by BIA and some white noise hats. Also modulating the feedback parameter of the mimeophon, which leads it to (nearly) getting out of hand at times.

Re: Mimeophon behaving weirdly

I tried a similar setup with mine and it sounded fine. Can you reproduce it? If so leave some basic patch notes so others can try maybe? Thanks for the help! Just tried it again with adjusted input levels as ggillon pointed out and it helped a little. Patch notes are really simple: I just sent a sa...

Re: Mimeophon behaving weirdly

I’ve been having a lot of fun with my Mimeophon which I got recently, but today I noticed some strange behavior. Here's an audio file to show what I mean because I find it hard to describe: https://soundcloud.com/djfussball/mimeophon-test/s-gZLXu Basically, when I sync my Mimeophon to an external c...

Re: Question regarding using a Make Noise CV Bus Case to integrate effect pedals

Hi I just got a wonderful used Make Noise CV Bus Case (picture coming soon) and was wondering if anyone had any experience trying to integrate effect pedals with it? Eg send a Eurorack voice out through the case's main output, run it through an effect pedal and then reintroduce it at the case's inp...

No problem-- I didn't realize that was a random/s&h module. It should be just fine! Basic VCOs are nice for using as a building block and more sophisticated sound sources are nice for bringing new types of sounds to electronic music. If I may ask, is there a basic vco you'd recommend? I've read goo...

Have you thought about keeping your effects to outboard gear? I'm currently running my M-32 through an EH Canyon, but I'm a bit confused about how I'd go about sending other modular gear through external effects. For example, could I just use one of those 3.5 -> 6.3mm cables to send the plaits to a...

Many popular (and good) modules, I'm sure you'll be fine. When you say experimental I'd be interested to know if you mean experimental sounds or experimental compositions. Experimental compositions can be made using any gear, of course. Experimental sounds is really where modular gear shine...

I would slow way down with all that stuff. I'd probably start with Maths, one of Plaits, BIA, or LI, and maybe some other CV stuff like the sequencer or clock divider. My opinion: experimental sounds come from unusual patching and some of the most useful stuff for building up those patches are samp...

Advice on my first rack

Hi everyone I'm putting together my first rack, I've changed it up quite a bit over the last few months and I think I'm quite happy with it now. I'll use my TR-8 for most of the standard drums and I also have a M-32 at my hands. I make mostly techno, aiming for a bit of a more experimental territory...

I have the original module, but if i’d be buying it again, i’d go with supercell, despite the size. In fact, I’m thinking of adding supercell to my OG clouds just because of all the added functionality.
alright, thanks again!

Supercell, if you want to go all out. The monsoon also seems nice. I'm sure there's others that are quality builds thanks for the reply! the supercell is definitely too large for my system and the monsoon really does seem nice, but there don't seem to be any "official" builds like there are for the...

Kinda late to the party, but can someone please recommend me a specific clouds clone? There seem to be a dozen different kinds of uburst etc and I'm afraid I'll get one that's poorly built or just get ripped off.
thanks!

BIA really really comes alive when you can feed it more than 1 sequenced cv source. The voltage block almost seems like it was made just for the task. You don't have to pair it with the varigate, any clock source can be used to clock it. By itself I think it's actually a very nicely priced sequence...

generally you want more vcas (get a quad - intellijel and mutable spring to mind) and maths is better suited to other tasks whilst maths can be patched to be a pseudo vca, there are at least 34 other things that it can do - search for the illustrated manual - which are often more useful yeah you co...
