Re: Doepfer A-110-4 Thru Zero Quadrature VCO

A recent thread about thru-zero oscillators rekindled my interest in A-110-4. So I swapped my A-110-4 and STO into my main case and had at them. Very happy with those two together, now I might get an A-110-6. In this piece that resulted, A-110-4 is modulated by STO and accompanied by Furthrrrr Gene...

Re: Furthrrrr Generator - sync input or output confusion?

It sounds to me as if when you use a cable to break the normalization between the carrier and modulator at the carrier's sync junction, you get the square wave from the modulator that by default is used for sync in that junction. I mean, you described as much. ahhh. okay. That makes sense It does b...

Re: Furthrrrr Generator - sync input or output confusion?

Hey, maybe one of you smart people can help a dummy like me. On the Furthrrrr generator, when I flick the sync switch to soft or hard, I can input an osc or use the modulator osc (without input) and it does it's respective sync mode. But the part that confuses me is that if I output from that same ...

Yes lots of sweet spots. I’m very happy with it. I think it really shines and becomes really interesting when FM’ed.
I think it will stay in my system for years to come. Yeah, lots left to explore, once of the most unique oscillators there is.

How can it not be DIY since the only way to create it is DIY? its an open source module that builders can create for you if you cannot but not a commercial module per se. its also an amazing module that covers many bases and a good choice! Re: Order to random

Hi All, I've just received my first two Eurorack modules, Rebel Technology Stoicheia and Tonic. These are the starting points for my research into off-kilter rhythms and melody. I've got other modules coming in, but for now, my question is solely focused on this - How can I bring a little bit of rh...

Re: Birdkids ”Raven” ?

It has been a while. I really, really like my RAVEN. :) It is a unique and flexible voice. Here is music I just made with RAVEN, in which it plays the melody. That sound changes twice at the end of the piece; the last change being perhaps the most interesting, in itself and in contrast. Session note...

Re: Intellijel Rubicon 2 vs SSF Zero Point Oscillator

The pitch drift is due to DC offset. It can be compensated for to a useful degree with an offset module. In the following demonstration of A-110-6, Blinds is used. I have and would use O/A/x2. Could you explain more about this concept? Should I use an offset on the CV signal before sending it into ...

Re: Intellijel Rubicon 2 vs SSF Zero Point Oscillator

The pitch drift is due to DC offset. It can be compensated for to a useful degree with an offset module. Despite a lot of work and experiment, in the long run I found the use of offsets only partially effective. The main problem is that if you change the modulator, frequencies, etc, you'll often ne...

Re: Joranalogue CONTOUR 1 - Slew Limiter/Function Generator

I see the confusion. The Doepfer A-171-2 Exp CV input is a frequency CV, equivalent to what Maths calls, unfortunately, "Both CV". Here's a comparison of the frequency (rate) CV inputs on the three modules. VCS has four rate CV inputs: Rise, Fall, Both, Exponential (Both simply mixes with the separ...

...what does Doepfer mean with the A-110-4 thru zero oscillator description that '' The sine/cosine waves are not derived from other waveforms (e.g. sawtooth or triangle) by means of waveshaping. Re: TEIA/ADDAC - Stochastic Function Generator

A question about ADDAC506, please: The matters of polarity, integration, multiplicity, and convenience aside, is there an essential difference between 1. how ADDAC506 implements randomization applied to min and max times per rise and fall respectively, and 2. applying a source of randomization to (f...

Re: Joranalogue CONTOUR 1 - Slew Limiter/Function Generator

Which reminds me: I keep thinking that the Doepfer A-171-2 splits the difference between Maths and CONTOUR 1 in this regard. Do I have that wrong? https://www.modulargrid.net/e/doepfer-a-171-2 If you follow the links to Doepfer's site, you see there that the A-171-2 is "mostly a licensed copy of Ke...

Perfect Circuit will not get my money anymore, as I've had similar poor interactions with them. 50% of my experiences with them have been odd. From the Contour 1 manual: "Both the rising and falling slopes can be individually bent, from concave through linear to convex. While doing so, the deviation in slope time, and thus oscillation frequency, is kept to a minimum. Since the bend parameters are separately voltage controllable, boundless...

Don't other sites say "more on the way". What's the difference? Don't you see that there's no date as an indicator of uncertainty of when more will arrive? Why is it on them? Control, Detroit Modular, Mattech and some others say "Sold Out" or "Out of Stock" or "Read More" on pages that list multipl...

Re: ADDAC 215’s unobtanium status and Perfect Circuit’s “coming soon” mystique

Not a fan of Perfect Circuit. When I tried to return a faulty module to them under warranty they wanted to charge me more than half the module's price just for one-way shipping. No thanks. Richard, this sounds to me like slander by selective omission: I believe that you aren't telling important par...
