Re: How do I make an air-raid siren? [Eurorack]
I have a patch I did on my Nord modular... I wrote out the theory I think. Let me find a link... https://electro-music.com/forum/viewtopic.php?highlight=siren&t=36903 Oops no writeup, and the theory page I linked to is kaput. If you download the patch file you can view it in the online G2 patch view...

Depending on how much control you are willing to give up, North Coast Synthesis has a fixed octal LFO that might work.

Re: DIY Modular Synth Problem - Voltage between power supply grounds
No offense, but this is really screwed up. Can you provide a schematic of the system? If you cannot, again no offense, but you should NOT be working with power supplies at this level. AC power is DANGEROUS and if your first attempt to build this resulted in sparks and burned wires, you have crossed ...

Re: Is there 1 synth you wish the most would make comeback next?
I miss my Cat more than any synth ever, yet I have not sprung for the Behringer version.. I depend on my Nord G2s and dread the day that they die... other than those two, maybe my Yamaha CS 40...

Re: Common ground between two cases (intellijel performance cases)
The solution has been presented. Heavy wire (16 ga or better) from each power supply's 0v point to a connector on the case (banana, binding, or Dinse) and then connect those with heavy wire. Power strip voodoo may work but not reliably. Front panel jacks may work or they may not; power connections b...

Re: Bipolar to unipolar conversion
As mentioned above, the Clavia Nord G2 does have a module like this, and I use it all the time. It is a very handy and well-thought-out module. There's an input and output, two switches, one sets the input range and polarity, the other sets the output range and polarity. This would be a great analog...

Adobe Audition 2.0 will probably do what you need, as long as you'r using Windows. As always, good luck finding it.

Re: Patching Between Cases
I think it's a damn shame that Graham has had to leave this group. The information that he provided has been of great help and, while I have not followed all of his advice (the use of welding connectors for 0V reference is over the top, IMHO), I have ended up with a system that is quiet and free fro...

Re: Does everyone eventually have to get a Maths?
Yeah... I knew I should have toned down that "analog computer" comment. But, regardless of the manufacturer's characterization, Maths is not an analog computer. An analog computer has a function - to model complex equations representing real-world phenomena. While synthesizers in general have a lot ...

Re: Does everyone eventually have to get a Maths?
Part of the appeal of Maths has to be the mystique around it, as well as the stunning level of ignorance displayed by some of its users. I just tried to watch a video earlier in which the guy describing it called it an "analog computer". He clearly knows nothing about what an analog computer is. Don...

Thx Devin. If this were planned as a product I would probably do that but since it is a one-off for my own use I am inclined to be a bit lazy.

Debouncing a Gate Generator
I would like to build an 8-output manual gate generator using on-off-(on) toggle switches. Obviously this requires debouncing, and because I like simple circuits and also lack the equipment to actually measure switch bounce, I have settled on a simple design: essentially 8 channels of debouncing pro...

Re: New ALM module - mmMidi
I have these two and they work well, no latency that I have been able to detect. However, I have realized that I really need continuous controllers as well. ALM, if you've given it any thought, I sure would like to see a third module in the series with continuous controller outputs.

Re: All Eurorack Chaos modules
Digital modules rely on deterministic chaos to create randomness. Correct me if I'm wrong. Should I add every digital module there is? What is the purpose of this module? Noise of chaos? For me this is not a chaos module. Not today. Oh, I don't blame you for not including it, just pointing out that...

Re: All Eurorack Chaos modules
Here's a chaos module that most may not recognize as such: the Pulp Logic V-Noise (video noise.) These types of noise generators use shift registers with feedback to create long, noncorrelated, but ultimately deterministic binary patterns that mimic randomness. That's chaos, pure and simple. The imp...

Chaos and randomness are entirely different things. Digital modules are superb at generating chaos. In fact.. since digi...

Mine was doing something like that at one point during debugging, it turned out to be bad connections at the header.
