Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler

It feels “unfinished” because it isn’t. And I love that. Thomas is the model of builder/customer interaction. He blows no smoke up no ass, and consistently delivers on new features and beta bug fixes. Nerdseq workflow may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but as a business, Thomas consistently impresses...

Re: What should be the 2nd Module (after Plaits) - MATHS or Disting EX, thoughts?

That’s a mighty big case, and while both of the modules would be useful and worthwhile in the long run, I wouldn’t prioritize either to be the only accompaniment to Plaits. I would opt for a simple and playable sequencer. Plaits, Marbles (or something of similar ilk) and a couple of rackable semi-mo...

If you’re just looking for CV out, FH-2 is the way to go IMhO.

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer

Ordered one from Schneider‘s yesterday, but had to cancel today since it is only available in black. Too bad! I hope there will be a silver option within the next 3 months... Any advice WMD? If you order a new WMD PM, I’ll gladly swap panels with you. My silver face PM is crying out for formal wear.

Re: Modules for realtime vocal processing

The upcoming Synth Tech E-520 has a bunch of modes that will be fantastic with voice. There are speech and choral demos on the site. FX-Aid is definitely worth considering too. That thing just makes me giggle. Erbeverb I imagine would be cool too.

Re: WMD 4tten - 4 channel attenuator and offset

Too bad it only outputs 5 volts. I’m looking for faders for my Muton and this would have been perfect. Back to the MSW F8R plan I guess. Any chance in 8-10V outputs, Alex? I know, I know, completely different use cases; attenuater vs cv souce, but a girl can dream. From the Muton Manual: "A control...

My DFAM loves quantizers. In fact, the rest of my rack loves the DFAM’s quantized sequences too.

Re: OMG! Lots of good VCAs!

However, as others have said, I really wish all of the jacks were on one side of the module, and the buttons were on the other. That way, Muton could be on the edge of a case, and the buttons would be much more 'playable.' When Muton is fully patched, you are reaching between cables, and that it can...

Re: Need sequencer suggestions!

I tried FH-2. I haven’t given up on it, but I may have given up on myself learning it. I’m great with HW, but shite with computers. One day I’ll knuckle down and get over my apprehension with the FH-2 set up application. I don’t think I’d prefer the Trigger expander over Metron simply due to the mic...

Re: Need sequencer suggestions!

Another thing with advanced sequencers; the more you have, the more shit you have to keep in memory. I’ve got three of the most advanced sequencers out right now; Nerdseq, Sinfonion, and Metron, had em’ for almost a year and I still have to rewatch the tutorials and reread the manuals on a regular b...

Agreed, that unit looks different from the Moogfest Subharmonicon, but it looks like it has “Subharmonicon” printed at the bottom of the unit. Maybe the production version has seen some changes in layout.

Re: Modulation grand central station

Check out the Worng Vector Space too. It outputs 17 related cv’s from 3 inputs. The 3 cv inputs have switchable offsets that add an element of playable modulation. It’s not small, but the price is right and like most of my favorite modules, it’s dead simple.

I got the boppad too. It was better at the response curves, but TBH, I rarely ever use it either.

Re: Expressive keyboard for rack control: QuNexus, Microfreak, or something else?

The Qunexus is spotty. I’ve tried three, all had eratic response curves from pad to pad. The software editor is only mildly helpful. If you’d like a small format CV keyboard, it’s fine, but the velocity and note bending (y’know; all the things I bought it for) is hit or miss.

Re: Joranalogue GENERATE 3 - Through-Zero Multiphonic Signal Generator

I have a Twin Waves to modulate my ZPO and Gen3. It has all the usual bells and whistles; a ton of wave forms, sync input, FM input, and a cv input for each osc.’s program dependent modulator (PWM, detune, etc.). It has a really shallow menu that is easy to navigate, it’s fairly small at 8hp, and it...

Re: Versatile filter with different modes/types/algorithms ?

I think you’d have more fun with 1 or 2 smaller footprint filters than finding one to do it all. That would give you a variety of textures and you could use more than one at a time for parallel and series filtering. There are some great small filters by Happy Nerding, WMD, and tons others that could...

Re: Advise me a wavetable osc

At this point, it sounds like you should take an arbitrary plunge at a used module. Find a deal on a suitable option and see if it scratches the itch. If no, sell it and repeat. I’ve worried myself silly trying to find the “perfect” module that tics all my boxes, only to find that once in my rack, s...

Re: Advise me a wavetable osc

Not a wavetable osc., but the ERM Polygogo can provide similar results. It is stereo out, and a blast to play with. It is much more immediate than my E-370, but sounds every bit as smooth and has the same “sheen” to the high freq’s.
