a replacement for Abyss is said to be coming by end of 2020.

They did.

I sort of hope the analog voice structure makes its way into a poly; a dual-oscillator Abyss v2 would complete my Dreadbox collection nicely...

Re: Modor NF-1M

I thought this guy did a good job of getting some of its charector across. If I wasn't for being in money bind I would not be selling my Nf-1.
It's underrated imo. In the right hands digital doesn't have to mean cold & sterile.

Another window into its sonics. Although I'm still very interested in this, I find it a bit on the pillowy sounding side, at least here anyway. Not that that's a bad thing but, just my impression.

Re: Dreadbox Abyss polyphonic synth

Curious why they discontinued this? Looking for a new poly in it's vibe territory (maybe P6?) not sure what else compares.

Re:

While he conclude Pro 6 is the all rounder of them OB 6 have more character which to me equals vibe. i agree ob6 sounders better to me It's difficult, depends what you want either for, I like them both, but the Pro 6 has a lovely delicate sound, the Obie is deep and rich, and can be more aggressive...

Re: Polysynths - Wanted - vibe over facts - Experience over spec

I'm considering getting a Prophet 6 at this moment. Anything else you synth guru dudes think one should seriously consider in the P6 vibe territories, before pulling the trigger? Seriously tempted by the UDO Super 6, but it's availability & any potential glitches are anyones guess. They sound diffe...

Re: U.D.O. Super 6 hybrid "binaural" poly

Yes, I went with the UDO, paid all upfront, been promised one of the first batch, in blue, so fingers crossed. The deciding factor was the OB-6 suddenly went up £400 overnight in the EU, so it was "fuck that" as it was already more expensive than the Super 6, and the more demos of the latter I hear...

Re: U.D.O. Super 6 hybrid "binaural" poly

I really like this man´s approach...the usual "product specialist" thing shows little more than what you can find in the manual and tends to bore me, but see the emotional extra that the creator puts in this product is really refreshing and makes me like the synth even more as I buit empathy with w...

You know how it is when you’re waiting for a package to arrive and it’s sure to be inspiring, and look cool as hell too?!

Thinking combined w Ambika there’s some poly vibe pending.

For 6mm D-shaft knobs, Thonk is probably your best option. Spent a lot of time looking for a good knob for my TTSH and they have by far the best selection and the nicest looking knobs. The MIDIbox/Waldorf style knobs available at Modular Addict should also fit, if you want a different look. Thanks....

Can anyone chime in regarding any cool knob sourcing options?

I think they're 6mm D shaft for all 8 shafts?

For me, I was seriously considering Abyss and then decided to go w Ambika. Loving it sonically & finding navigating around fairly intuitive after a little digging.

Great question! I just uploaded a video about sound editing on the NF-1m to try and answer that very question. I don't think it's terribly menu divey - at least, not in comparison to the Micron or a lot of old Yamahas where you have to just cursor through page after page after page and can only edi...

Wrestling with the whole NF-1 vs NF-1m consideration.

Menu diving being the obvious deterent but otherwise, any other known & appreciable NF-1m sounds out there to be heard?

How are folks getting on with there's?

Hi folks.

I've been tossing around getting an Ambika. It's vibe is pretty intoxicating to me. If anyone is selling, please PM me.

Otherwise happy to hear current thoughts on any other polys with similar vibe one should consider.
Appreciate it!
