Re: New Elektron Teaser

This just popped up. 06849E0D-370C-4235-BB6A-9886E0034E29.jpg I think he pulled the video? Can't find it any more. Yeah they pulled it almost immediately. I know a bunch of people are going to be less than thrilled, but I'm really excited to get my hands on a baby Machinedrum for a really good pric...

$99 sounds good to me. I like the design, and have been looking for something like this.

Why not just use the attenuation capabilities of your Maths? You could also use that to create a slow triggering clock for the O_c.

Was there ever an official Overbridge release? Or is it still in beta?
Still beta, so maybe they'll also take it out of beta. Hopefully also adding OT support so we can send audio over usb, and all that stuff.

Re: New Elektron Teaser

Okay I'm putting my money on it being a Model size machine box similar to a Machine Drum. The six channels correlate with the six different snippets they've been putting out. The reveal on Wednesday will show all six of the snippets played together on the one machine. Now what I'm really hoping for ...

Sounds really good. Are those analog envelopes?
Eh. No pwm. Unacceptable in this day and age.

Re: New Elektron Teaser

All kinds of speculation. The most logical guesses are firmware updates for DT and OT, allowing for the option to choose machines instead of samples for each channel, and what is most likely coming, Model size versions of their synth series. Interesti g to see what it might be.

Re: Nord Drum 2

How much of a difference is there between the ND1 and ND2? Think these would work really well with Elektron stuff, and looking to pick one up. I'd prefer to save some money if the sound isn't that much different on the ND1.

How much iPad does one need?

I'm keep seeing all these great apps being released for IOS but not much for android users. I'd like to utilize a tablet to hands on control ableton and also use some of these really cool sound mangling apps coming out. Would an IPad 2 cut it or do I need to aim higher. Cheaper the better.

Re: interesting modern digital synths?

I've never been much of a lover of FM as it always reminded me of really cheesy 80s commercials, and the hair pulling frustration of pressing and holding buttons to change parameters, but I have to say The Digitone is never far from my side. Programming it is super effortless, and encourages tweakin...

Re: Moog Vocoder

Never understood why people bad mouth gear that's quality but out of their price range. I’m not sure it’s about bashing things one can’t afford. I think that it’s more about the guts/audacity to charge five times more than most people would expect such a thing to go for. I think that it’s insanely ...

Re: Moog Vocoder

Looks super duper. Maybe if I hit the lotto I'll get one. Never understood why people bad mouth gear that's quality but out of their price range. Maybe its jealousy or bitterness of being reminded of their poor financial responsibilities.

Re: Albums I should listen to before I die

Picking from the hat: John Zorn. Alternatively, there's a shit-ton of stuff if you look outside the US/Europe. How about Fela Kuti as a starting point? Listened to a bunch of Zorn growing up. Talked one of my students I to doing a school report on Fela. Actually haven't listened to either in years....

Holy hell. They got it all wrong in Demolition Man. It's not Taco Bell that wins the corporate wars, its Behringer. I'm going to have to go back to school and get some student loans for all of this GAS.
