Re: Arturia Minibrute 2! / [EDIT - and now 2S!]

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a MB2/2S if it wasn't that goddamn ugly. Remember the gorgeous looking colored editions of Mini/Micro brutes v1 ? Same goes for the freaksteap. Arturia have a graphic designer problem

It is ugly and cheap as hell but the sound is gorgeous and will make it in all your tracks. So all in all, it is much better than a VST emulation.

Teleplasmiste

Nothing to gain from posting this, I don't play in it, but this is quite amazing that this band (ex-Coil/Cyclobe/Guapo members) has such a low following. A couple of Synton Fenix, bagpipes, etc. 2 masterpieces out https://teleplasmistehom.bandcamp.com/album/to-kiss-earth-goodbye https://teleplasmist...

If you read interviews he always mentions some mystery hardware distortion/filter thing
On stage he always had that Line 6 red pod multieffect thing along with the powerbook, so I'd say that's that.

I was 40 years old (this year) when I first understood that melody + bass are not enough, you need melody + bass + chords to make actual music.? No. You don’t. Harmony is completely unnecessary. Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

I don't know if Behringer knew that Moog was going to re-release the Mini D when they had their D planned, though admittedly it rubbed me the wrong way however I do think that it no way impeded what Moog was doing. The minimoog is a legendary luxury item, the Boog is an ugly piece of shit. Both hav...

As I see it CDM article is very much targeting towards those who tries to make a living from making music. For young lower middle class kids dreaming to be famous musician and still in ' me first modus ' not so much. Class warfare has become an unescapable topic at this point  One can argue th...

How would I do this? Use a standard stereo audio cable?
Sometimes it works. It does between a SQ-1 and a 0-coast.

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

I had the thought last night that Behringer is ultimately trying to compete against software plug-in's with the price point their synths, not other hardware manufacturers. I think in a way that is true. Thinking back to when I was a kid and my family didn't have a lot of money, in today's dollars $...

Re: The Sky is Falling!

Behringer just put out a youtube video on using their Eurorack modules to expand their semi-modular synths. This probably means that their Eurorack modules are actually going to happen and be on sale soon. I hope this ends up actually leading to a larger modular market rather than a major disaster ...

Re: Twisted Electrons MEGAfm

I can’t say I have much money at this time but didn’t consider this to be that expensive especially considering the build quality. In terms of sound I'm not very convinced by anything yet - neither by 4 OP FM synths in general nor that "megadrive chip" in particular. In terms of functionality it's ...

Re: 'Logic/Utility Box' for semi modulars

This is what I did : a 0-coast in a box with a bunch of cheap passive modules (2 mults, a double LPG, a mixer, a triple attenuator) and a DIY patchbay (15in/15out). The hardest part was the woodwork.

They make some nice design choices at Twisted Elctrons. I don't know why I should "care" about the sega thingy. But if the price is right .. Does it sound nice or is it limited to chiptunes and bit-reduced sounds? 474 Euro excluding VAT their site says. That's more than a used Digitone was my first...
