Re: JP6-VCF Roland Jupiter-6 Filter

Sorry to revive a thread this old, but is there a calibration procedure for the JP6-VCF? I foolishly messed with the trim pots on mine and I can't seem to get it back to what it was before.

Can't select 0-C1 as min and max note in Mutant Brain Surgery

When you select MIDI note as the source under Gate Outputs in Mutant Brain Surgery, you can select the same note for min and max for every note except for the first one, 0-C1. I edited the HTML in the browser to set the max note to 0-C1 <option value="0" selected="">0 C-1</option> and it does actual...

Re: Interface suggestions?

I had a Behringer XR18 for a few years, it worked great for multitracking a bunch of inputs with Reaper. My only issue with it is that it didn't have a physical master volume knob, ended up getting a passive monitor controller to use with it.

for the money it makes sense to me to just grab an MPC One/Live II or a Pyramid for extensive CV sequencing, but if I had unlimited funds to throw at it I would love a giant physical CV recorder/sequencer

Re: Dave Smith hint of a new synth coming up in August

I just bought an OB-6, so that should guarantee they announce the OB-12 next week. Unlikely. The OB-12 all ready exists: http://www.vintagesynth.com/sites/default/files/2017-05/oberheim_ob12.jpg I guess Dave Smith might come up with a new OB (probably and hopefully in collaboration with Tome Oberhe...

Re: Why buy used at recent market prices?

Unless it's a very expensive item, I'll buy used even if it's close to new list price. If I can save $20, not pay sales tax, and help out a reputable seller by buying used, I will. You can't go into eurorack thinking about getting deals or saving money at all, it's a lost cause unless you're really ...

Re: Benefits of recording to reel to reel

There is no external 50/60 cycle switch. But, I saw somewhere on the Tapeheads board a claim that the motor (which was shared among a handful of Sony models) was AC. Should've bookmarked the thread. According to the service manual, the motor is an IC-624H1 https://imgur.com/eLQ3W2y . Need to learn ...

Re: Benefits of recording to reel to reel

Many DC motor powered reel to reels can easily be converted to a vary-speed echo with the addition of just a pot. I have done this a few time to old Sony decks. I picked up a Sony TC-353 recently and it actually sounds great after hours of cleaning and lubricating all the moving parts. I'm going to...

I really like my Presonus Sceptre S6 monitors. I also have the T10 sub, but it's not really necessary; I got it when I had a smaller pair of speakers.

It's a great sequencer, still more capable than most with real time recording, a ton of simultaneous tracks, different track lengths, sequences that are 100s of bars long, etc. Editing recorded sequences is not fun on the screen. It's also not very fun to intricately chop samples on, but it's doable.

I'd recommend the Future Artist one to anyone looking for a fun, more simple looper, though. Thank you for providin...

I have an Alesis Microverb that feels very 80's to me. They used to be found super cheap, I think I paid $40 for it. Not sure if that's still the case but it's worth checking out.

Re: Adding warmth / saturation / crud

I really liked the saturation I got out of an Art Dual MP tube pre. It was cheap on Craigslist, I gave it a friend a while back and replaced it with a more expensive tube amp, but I still think the Dual MP was better for saturation/warmth.

Re-quantising already quantised pitch CVs may not yield the same set of notes, due to the way the quantising algorithms work, so it could be a frustrating experience. Plus if you are using the 4 CV inputs for your 4 already quantised CVs, then there will be no other CV inputs you can use to control...

Can I use Quantermain to simultaneously t...

+1 That would actually save me a lot of space with some patches I've made recently. I'm trying to figure out a way to do this in 4hp right now, and it's near impossible. It could be done with an Aroom-modded LPZW WK1 and a WK2, transposing by feeding voltage into the WK2, but those modules are kind...

Anyone ever seen an issue like this where models are randomly changing as if signal was being sent to the model jack? This is a Knit that I recently got second-hand.
