Re: Frap Tools USTA

The notes are quantized to the scale that you have selected. You can choose whatever notes you like via the dials & they will be quantized to your chosen scale (Rene works the same way). You can also choose how the quantization works nearest up/down etc. Just to make sure I understand--you're sayin...

Re: Frap Tools USTA

Am I missing something is there no way to get the USTA to lock to a quantized scale? I know you can set the scale in the menu, and for purposes of probability, the USTA will adhere to that scale, but when you spin the dials to set a specific note, it allows you to set any chromatic note, not just a ...

Re: Turing Machine vs Permutation vs Marbles

Personally, I find that I end up with more interesting and more usable patterns from Permutation than from Marbles. Both are great--I have both, and will keep both. They fill somewhat different roles. But if I'm just looking to generate a quick and interesting pattern, I always go to Permutation fir...

Re: Running two sequences at once

Interesting. I hadn't thought of using switches, but that makes a lot of sense. I will give that a go. But I'd still be interested in any other thoughts for the best (or most efficient, or most interesting?) way of accomplishing this sort of thing.

Running two sequences at once

I'm trying to figure out how to do the following and failing so far: I want to have one sequence playing a continually repeating line. For the sake of example, something like this: [BASS]-A-A-B And I'd like the [BASS] note to be its own pattern: C-B-D-A So that you end up with the following sequence...

Re: Frap Tools USTA

My unit is similar. Your bleed seems a little worse than mine, maybe? But it could just be the photo. But I definitely have bleed. It's usually possible to tell where the light is supposed to be and where it's not, but it can be a little tricky at times.

How are folks who have gotten to spend some time with the Moon Phase at this point feeling about it now? Are the clipping and/or low-end issues resolved or still there? Still enjoying the module otherwise? Any second or other thoughts?

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX

Am I reading the manual correctly that the "chord enable" function in the SD Multisample algorithm adjusts the chord triads for the scale that you're in? So that if I tell it to play triads in C minor, and I feed it a sequence of C-Bb-F-Ab-G, it's going to play Cmin, Bb, Fmin, Ab, Gmin, rather than ...

Re: Qu-Bit Surface - Multi-Timbral Physical Modeling Voice

I own Rings, Plaits and the Surface. Some differences: -- Rings and Plaits don't hold the decay/sustain of the sounds if you change the model. The Surface does. (Of course you can somewhat solve this issue with the Rings + Plaits with some reverb or delay.) So you can set up a sequencer to change t...

Re: Qu-Bit Surface - Multi-Timbral Physical Modeling Voice

Finally a video up sort of demoing the surface: https://youtu.be/GkKSGQrNEaQ Have to say, I’m not super impressed by this video, but maybe this video just isn’t focused on the kind of uses I’d be wanting something like the Surface for. Based on this video at least, I’m not hearing the same kind of a...

Re: Frap Tools USTA

Is this something anyone else has run into? Am I doing something wrong somehow? Here's a video of what's it's doing: That is weird. I've never had that happen with USTA, and I only run it externally clocked from PNW. I really only ever use /2 and x2 of the PNW clock within USTA, so maybe it's an is...

Re: Frap Tools USTA

New USTA owner and I'm having weird issues clocking it externally. I'm clocking from Pam just normally, nothing fancy. And when I use the ratio control (so it's multiplying the clock) the clock gets all weird, it's almost like there's an LFO controlling the clock, so that it speeds up and slows down...

Essentially if he hasn't emailed you, your status is 'will ship by end of September'.

I was a pre-KS black panel, and mine shipped yesterday.
That seems contrary to what was stated above:

Re: Qu-Bit Surface - Multi-Timbral Physical Modeling Voice

As I said, I'm waiting to get a better sense of what it does and how it sounds from some hopefully-forthcoming-soon in-depth demos. But one of the things that could make Surface appealing as an addition to Rings is if it covers some/much of the ground that Intellijel Plonk covers as well. Not sure i...

Re: Closest module to Bog Audio FM-OP

The Humble Audio module seems cool, but it's so big! I get that these sorts of modules, if they're going to do analog FM, probably need to be really big. But if someone just ported the Bog Audio digital module from VCV Rack and put it into a physical eurorack digital module that works just like the ...
