Re: a138m matrix feedback loops sound design help (metallic/resonant squeals)

send outs of effects back into the matrix, and ride the feedback manually. the feedback console from harvestman makes this a breeze (tip!) but can do this w any matrix

or could cheat and use a jomox tres :)

if we are talking modules, nerdseq is quite capable as well, especially if the tracker workflow is to your liking - not to mention the forthcoming desktop version..

Re: Dead Zorlon Mk1

I have a mk1 that locks up and stops outputting sound, clock, and gates. Not really sure what is up - was like this new and then stopped exhibiting the behavior for a while - never ended up sending it in at the time.. Realized it still does this sometimes while testing before sale recently - seems t...

Re: Connecting a 1/4" TS CV out to a banana input

ground from the bob to the synth only needs to be established once and that cable should work since one banana is ground - any other connections after your first can be straight banana to TS

nice, thanks for the response - always into creative use of extra space like I have seen in some diy buchla portable cases. the XL boats seem like a good width.. maybe you can swap out your current boats for 3 XL boats and keep the auxiliaries on the edges as is cool stuff on the edges, looks like s...

Ahhh yeah the speck ssm, super quality stuff - didn’t mention since a bit hard to track those down but it may be what you are looking for.. could try and find a speck s72 locally or a used speck lilo too. toft? I know some like those as well

Re: Analogue Studio Mixer - High Quality Sound, EQ and Build £500-£2000 ?

any of the venice units seem right for the job, also only hear good things about APB mixers... occasionally seen for sale at good prices used. I think with the higher budget many more options may be on the table.. I would also consider size too because many quality consoles are huge and heavy

Re: Prophet 08 / Alesis Ion (Opinion Poll)

looking through the ion manual, seems some of the architecture/workflow is inspired by the xpander - tracking generators etc. surely sound totally different but maybe Marcus Ryle and Michel Doidic had a strong influence at alesis even after leaving to do line6...

Re: Synton Fenix I and II

I would guess the big bass-line it begins with is the fenix (hard to say which one) and the more filter-y acidic line sounds like a serge vcfq - pads sound like vx600... Any thoughts on which is Serge and which is the Fenix in this one? Almost sounds like dueling basslines, to me: https://www.youtub...

Re: Synton Fenix I and II

fenix funk 5 uses two fenix 1s cross patched to create the vocal line.. from what we can gather from interviews... sounds like there is another line following underneath it same notes (not fenix) - can hear it more in your face on the rough mix: https://youtu.be/ZuYvdkslzG0 in any case agreed we nee...

Re: Eurorack for my current setup

nice, was going to suggest the rainmaker -looks solid

forgot about a4 cv-gate outputs - should suffice unless you prefer to keep external sequencing together on the OT. if you are going w 7u I’d maybe just go with the intellijel 1u midi (over the doepfer) - I think there is a new version incoming.

Re: Eurorack for my current setup

seeing as you have a solid mono (sub 37), east coast flavors via 0-coast, octatrack for drums/samples/sequencing and perhaps some processing, and an analog 4 - I’d say you are covered on most elements. I think a smaller purpose-built rig to work with and complement the 0-coast would be the move - so...

Re: Analogue Studio Mixer - High Quality Sound, EQ and Build £500-£2000 ?

lots of decent console and mixer options. I’d start by checking your local used for-sale sections and seeing what is available near you. many times studios close up shop and get rid of nice mixers on the low. or can go with your usuals as mentioned above if you don’t want a big old mixer. but yeah w...

have had the opp to try both (never owned) and can concur the fenix 1 has an edge to it that is simply put RAW, can always add a serge panel under (for banana) or a row of eurorack to compliment any functions you feel are missing.. anyways seems the 1 comes up for sale less often. :sb:
