Re: Moogfest Sub-Harmonicon - What Is It?

Thanks for the info, folks! Thanks in particular to atl for giving it a try (and don't worry, I know where my towel is ;) ) I was tickled that my response to you was my 42nd post. A followup question, since I'm still on the fence... since the JI quantization modes are what pushed you over the edge,...

Re: Moogfest Sub-Harmonicon - What Is It?

Maybe I'm confused. But using the 12-tone quantization options, any key is available... right? With equal temperament, yes. You'll get the same frequency ratios no matter what key you're in. But Just Intonations are built around low-integer ratios from the tonic/root. As you get further away tonall...

Re: Moogfest Sub-Harmonicon - What Is It?

Don't Panic! The manual indicates that there's a master tuning mode, but that this only goes plus or minus 50 cents, so that doesn't help us here. But I did notice this in the MIDI specification: https://i.imgur.com/ayPzEef.png I'm wondering if this function might be the way to offset the quantized ...

Re: Moogfest Sub-Harmonicon - What Is It?

Andrew Huang showed a graphic of a generic JI diatonic scale, which is probably what's in place for 8-JI, but things can get interesting with twelve tones.

I guess that's a prompt to get out what measurement tools I can.

Has anyone dug into the actual Just Intonation implementation? Which ratios are in play, especially with 12-JI?
Youtuber Andrew Huang goes into it in his SH video iirc.
The one that ends with the song that prompted... opinions on this forum?

I'll have to re-watch that, thanks.

Re: Synth Tech e520 Hyperion Stereo Audio Processor

So it's been a while since I thought of this project. And, since I pre-ordered pre-Kickstarter, I haven't been receiving regular KS updates. So in the interest of reducing surprise for others who might be in a similar situation, I note there has been recent news regarding manufacturing delays: e520 ...

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

Have you played with any of the CV inputs (e.g. BPM, Density, 16ths) being mapped exponentially (like, 1v/oct), instead of linearly? What I hear in the demos sits at the boundary of pitch and rhythm, and it would be great to at least have the option of driving the system in a pitch-like way. That's...

But your right you don’t, once the hex is installed from the plum site you get the two apps as expected pop up on the screen.
Cool. Thanks for verifying it works as expected. I'll be installing mine soon.

I plan on soon installing the "Plum Audio Pre Compiled HEX" linked at the bottom of https://www.plum-audio.com/firmwares

Is that not the right place to look?

Count me in as a bump as well. I backed the mSSP the first go-around, and you can count on me to strongly back it the next time.

I don't have any other debugging advice other than to methodically isolate the problem, say, by powering it alone on the diy rack, then re-attaching power one by one to the other modules.

First thing to check is plugging it straight into the wall. UPS’s can and do strange things to a sine waveform coming out of the wall.

I have neither module, but this is how I’d think about it: Drive EC & T_U from the same basic clock. Derive a swing from that same tempo in T_U. Turn EC’s triggers into gates. Combine the EC gates with the T_U shuffle feel with some AND logic. Maybe the implementation will take more modules, but I h...

I'm looking forward to the module but I have to say that the jack configuration is a bit confusing. If the jacks are meant to represent the physical stage, wouldn't patching on the right side of the module put the things on the left side for the audience? :hmm: I'm not sure I get this as a critique...
