I finally built a proper case, consolidated, and re-paneled some modules in sexy black. Food for samplers:

Looks great. Why not morphagene?
I've had the phonogene since before the morphagene came out. I have hardware samplers if I need more sampling time.

Re: Korg Arp 2600 1:1 grey version confirmed by JMJ

I waited YEARS for Korg to do this after the release of the Odyssey. 2-3 years ago I would've totally jumped on this. This summer I finally gave up and decided to expand my existing rig instead. I hope the new 2600 lives up to everyone's expectations.

I have a 6 voice. Lack of sysex hasn’t caused me any issue but I’d probably update if a crowdsourced update was available.

what do you find kick ass about the samplers? i watched the 3 minute video on them, and they look fine, but nothing jumped out at me. For starters being able to actually sample with a "sampler" module was a nice surprise. There's a nice visual display for looping along with peak detection to allow ...

I just spent some quality time with Voltage and it kicks ass as a loop processor using either of the available samplers. It's light on the cpu from what I've experienced and there is a nice selection of modules.

I was hoping it would be korg who would deliver that but if it sounds as close as their Model D I could be talked into it.

I miss Peter Christopherson's creativity. I didn't like all of his stuff but it was all unique and unlike anything anyone else was doing at the time whether it was TG, Coil, Soisong or the many other projects that he participated in. Dude died too soon.

Where's Morley? I think he's got a Fairlight or two. I suspect the original Fairlight library was done in house. Their first sample was of one of the employee's dog. That breathy patch made famous by so many songs in the 80's was a sample of Sarah Cohen, one of the employees. I don't know all that m...

Multitrack minidisc recorders use md-data discs that use a different format from standard minidisc. It sounds like you are trying to playback a data md in a regular player which will never work.

I'm going to go with the poly 800. I had the ex-800 and just couldn't gel with its craptacular sound. A friend of mine at the time loved his. I guess anything can sound good if you drench it with enough effects. Polysix was a close second for me. I had one as my only synth for 3 years and I never un...
