Re: Controlling Ciat Lonbarde with Buchlas and vice versa.

Euro should be absolutely fine. All signals in euro are bipolar.

Serge accepts negative voltage
Euro accepts negative voltage
Buchla is positive voltage only
Lorre mill is positive voltage only

Re: Controlling Ciat Lonbarde with Buchlas and vice versa.

It has nothing to do with the power and everything to do with the 254. In this case the 254 is a clone, and likely built with diode protection on the inputs. The voltages present at the inputs are then scaled up into a positive range and sent out to the 281. IMHO you should NOT clock the Buchla usin...

Re: Model 220e Hardware Upgrade

Awesome!! Thanks a bunch, It looks like the range is around 7 LEDs min and all LEDs max. in the video ( I know that can be set to individual taste, but I was finding with a minimum of 3 LEDs my max pressure was capping out too easily). Also the Reset button. of course!!! Glad to know I can reset a k...

Re: Model 220e Hardware Upgrade

YES!!!! I finally got mine. Customs between the US and Russia take forever LOL Hey @traffkin, any pointers on the pressure calibration? If I mess it up is there a way to get back to default or reset? Should I use the light bars as an indicator? What is a good range? Thanks for the incredible update,...

Re: Not putting markings around knobs on modules...

Almost none of my euro modules have markings (frap tools and mannequins do)

Buchla is the king of labeling. Everything clearly labeled and thought out enough to be descriptive and informative for anyone to approach it.

Re: Buchla love/hate

It's just SOOOO easy to dial something cool in on a Buchla system. I have two euro rigs one make noise/instruo centric and one frap tools iesakul moben they based both are great but require a great deal more effort and focus to create something cool. The Buchla is always just straight forward and in...

Re: 267e S&H question

Nevermind. After scouring the threads for a long time a random google search for something non related revealed the answer in a much older thread on the 267e Also if you were curious and popped in to know the answer: - Mix out = Crossfade between unmodified cv in and fluctuating random voltage. - S&...

267e S&H question

Quick question, The 267e has a cv in and a cv control of prob rate of change. Then a blend output and S&H output. Does the S&H output act as a true sample and hold of whatever CV is present at the CV in? Does the mix out crossfade the Sampled and held value with the smooth random from the fluctuatin...

Re: Tempi help - How to stop it?

The Gate and Trig options allow you to set gate or note lengths of varying duration.

So if you wanted Tempi to produce held notes for an ASR or ADSR type envelope, Gate mode allows you to set that duration. Trig mode is a strict trigger spike.

Re: Next module (256e or 257e?)

I think the answer to your question will be related to how you use the 252e. Do you mainly use it for triggering or for cv melodies / modulations. 256e will allow greater control of your cv signals as it can act as a bank of VCA's / attenuators / shapers. 257e will provide you with attenuation/ shap...

Re: can someone take a photo of a 200e next to a nintendo switch?

One module is 7 inches tall x 4 1/4 inches wide

a 208c is around the size of your laptops keybed. A 3 row Buchla system is definitely bigger than your laptop.

Think of it this way. I'm an adult and one Buchla module is about the same size as my whole hand laid out flat.

Re: Next module (256 or 257?)

One of the two modules will act as a VCA, the other can act as a trigger generator and cv variator / shaper. Depends on what works in your flow.

Re: Opinion? Does the adage “You can never have too many VCAs” apply in Buchla?

The phrase "you can never have too many cases" pertains to amplitude control of control voltages, not audio. Having a vca in front of a modulation source allows dynamic inclusion / exclusion of that modulator as well as control over the amount of modulation. The 292e incorporates a second cv input f...

Re: 208c noise?

Also, I had some noise bleed in my setup. Until I started using Furman SS-6B conditioned power strips for everything. Even if everything is grounded, a power conditioner can solve issues with poor in home grounding / ground loops.
