Re: Akemie's castle - what you doing with yours?

I’ll add to the choir: Akemie’s Castle is the shiznit. It’s easy to disregard this module as a retro gimmick, because of its NOS vintage sound card chips, but it’s the real deal. For those who love to sound-sculpt, the Castle is a cozy warm velvety rabbit hole of euphonic bliss, and the other featu...

The Cranborne Audio one? I'm probably going to get the ADAT version. Elysia make good 500 series modules.
Yep. I got the ADAT version too, adding it to my RME UFX :)

Re: King of the Kicks

I found out the secret sauce. Ok here goes: WMD Crater into Elysia Xfilter 500. :sb: :) Awww shiit. I just bought a new A/D converter that also just so happens to be a 500 series chassis! I bought it for the conversion, and now have 8 empty 500 slots.. hmmm... I know nothing much yet about 500 seri...

Re: Ableton Live & sequencers, workaround for latency issues

Expert Sleepers ES-3 for sending audio clock pulses from Ableton to the modular. All audio tracks into interface. Interface into Ableton. Its a perfect loop. I use this setup with the WMD PM and DB-25 expander into my interface so I can multi track, and it works great. Since the ES-3 handles audio i...

Re: New MakeNoise module: Mimeophon

I wanted a dirtier more unique delay to go along with my Magneto, and thought the Mimeophone would be just the one. I have vetted through this thread though, and the issues this module apparently has are not something I feel like dealing with at all. So I was feeling a little bummed... but this was ...

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer

I’ve finally taken the plunge on a second interface and a PM DB25 expander, something I’ve long wanted but kept putting off. The recent discussion here renewed the urge. Now I’m wondering, I see a big price range on DB25 to DB25 cable, the ones that appear to be marketed to musicIans being more exp...

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer

I've been thinking of doing exactly the same, picking up a second Fireface UC and start multitracking but I haven't had the urge so far. I'm reasonably happy with my stereo recordings and I don't know if I'll find the motivation to mix from scratch on the computer... hard to know before you've trie...

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer

If you dont have an interface with a dp25 port, you can always use a D25 to 8xTRS snake. This allows you to 'break out' channels if you wish to send to other outboard gear. Its what I use with my RME UFX. I plan on getting the Audient Asp880 down the road, along with the PM channels expander. The 8...

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer

Yeah that is super clean and convenient. I am really looking forward to being able to track all the PM channels separately. That's gonna be a game changer for me. I want to get the Mimosa but can’t really figure out a use for it. if I understand what it is. Is this thing basically a stereo tube overdrive and CV level for distortion? Looks cool and I love tubes but I’m not sure if that single function is worth getting. Yeah I am in the same boat, it is hard t...

Re: BEST VCF at the moment ??

That's a rather difficult question because hp size / price may be factors here. You'll see tons and tons of racks with things like Ripples or Polaris in them and those are fine VCFs, just more of convenient for their size/function/cost considerations, instead of being balls-to-wall most complex and...

Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler

Just getting familiar with this thing and I wasn't able to figure this out. Is there a way to remotely stop the song so that all the gates close? The equivalent of hitting shift stop but by way of an external voltage? Problem being when the clock source stops (Pam), NerdSEQ sequences stop progressi...

Hey probably a dumb question but ... I’m using DB 25 expander into Fireface 802 . I have channels 1-6 and master running into balanced inputs on the back , works perfectly and sounds great ! Re: MFB HH/CY-522

I've got the HH/CY-522 and I'm not terribly impressed with it. My main issue is that the Tune and Decay knobs for the HH/OH really don't do much - the changes are subtle, especially for Tune. And the CY sound is old school but somehow not charming either. I haven't used CY on anything yet. Beyond t...

I just routed a slot in the side of my case to mount my midi expander along with the WMD DB25 out. I will be using threaded inserts that are made for 3m screws so that I can mount the modules without stripping the wood.

MFB HH/CY-522

Is anybody familiar with this? 13432.f.jpg I am having a hard time finding any much info on it. There seem to be no sound demos aside from people using the older MFB 5222 Drum Computer. :despair: I understand that it has been updated and expanded upon for the modular environment. I am very curious a...
