Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler
I bought the nerdseq. I am a bit cautious about a sequencer with steps and a limit to the length of a pattern. But I have other sequencers that don’t have these limits and I am hoping that I can use the nerdseq to make mostly rhythmic patterns to add to my current songs. It looks like it has a lot ...

Re: Today my small discovery was...
Just tried sidechain compression and it works so well I cannot believe I haven’t done this before. It was the classic of having the oscillator volume drop when a kick drum hits. Mesmerising... takes two channels of Quadratt though (at least the way I’m doing it) so considering an A-142-2 for the ‘d...

Re: Today my small discovery was...
Today my small discovery was that the ER-101 and 102 can use scala files!!!! This is a major gamechanger for me and I am already down a rabbit hole of new microtonal music! I curated about 70 scales including every scale the ableton push 2 offers, along with a bunch of chord structures, and of cours...

Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler
Hey there! Few days ago I started vaguely to understand "table".. felt like a great victory against my poor brain.. Nonetheless, remains few very obscure places! If a good soul could help... 1- Table speed: I don't get the divisions (6th tick => "standard" sequence speed.. ok), what is 5 or 7 in rh...

Re: Recording technique: building songs from recording euro samples / loops
The ER-101 + 102 just literally changed my life regarding this quandary. I always have ended up with sprawling 45 minute long loops coming from the modular with maybe something dope happening in the DAW too. Problem for me has always been that when I write some new part or transition in the DAW worl...

Re: what's the longest you've had a finished synth for?
Trispectrum fed from a custom Turing machine and out to a compact clouds knockoff. With this setup I can either 'play along' in tempo, or switch the clock signal to random and let it fill the background all by itself. I have not changed this box for over a year, so I must like something about it :t...

Re: WMD Javelin - new Envelope generator/amplitude modulator
..so bout to pull the trigger on three ADSR's. Wondering if I should just get two of these and maybe something else for the third.. but if this thing really does have that extra dose of expressiveness then I'd assume just get three. Anyone else have any positive (or negative) things to say? How does...

Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler
You could probably mount it from inside with a couple standoffs, and then drill a couple holes for access I would think
I already had mine when I built my case so I just incorporated it. Heres a pic..

Re: WMD Javelin - new Envelope generator/amplitude modulator
Wondering why this isn't getting much attention, it looks like an amazing envelope? Will buy two soon. Thinking the same thing. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who is obsessed with actual ADSR envelopes, and this one seems killer! I use gates much more than triggers in my music so I would r...

Re: Akemie's castle - what you doing with yours?
I’ll add to the choir: Akemie’s Castle is the shiznit. It’s easy to disregard this module as a retro gimmick, because of its NOS vintage sound card chips, but it’s the real deal. For those who love to sound-sculpt, the Castle is a cozy warm velvety rabbit hole of euphonic bliss, and the other featu...

Re: Ableton Live & sequencers, workaround for latency issues
Expert Sleepers ES-3 for sending audio clock pulses from Ableton to the modular. All audio tracks into interface. Interface into Ableton. Its a perfect loop. I use this setup with the WMD PM and DB-25 expander into my interface so I can multi track, and it works great. Since the ES-3 handles audio i...
