Re: Looking for a new eurorack sequencer (help!)

I have a Metasonix D2000 that I would also like too trigger with it. D2000 calls for certain gate lengths (if that's what you call it) too work properly. WMD Metron seems too work really well with it, doesn't double trigger and you get some nice extras with triggering the gated noises. I have looke...

Well, technically an ADSR with Sustain fully CCW should do...

Anyways, it appears the A-162 and S-185 can, in fact, shorten gates.

Ohhh, now that's interesting... Cheers :yay:

Re: Looking for a new eurorack sequencer (help!)

Yeah, fair point. I'll experiment more tomorrow on whether I can get it too like my D2000 or not. That and the UI are what's making me want something else. Try emailing Jim@Five12.com , he’s a cool guy and will help with your drum machine problem Yeah. I’ve been in contact with him before. Ever sin...

Re: Looking for a new eurorack sequencer (help!)

Welcome to sequencer hell, Ru. :) You have two overall options: 1) use an elaborate pitch+gate sequencer—such the Vector; these are worlds unto themselves. They include DAWs, various standalone boxes, and a variety of Eurorack modules (all listed here for your convenience: https://doudoroff.com/seq...

Looking for a new eurorack sequencer (help!)

Currently using the Five12 Vector which is a really cool sequencer but I really don't need all of those features. I absolutely love the pitch glide on it, that's one thing i'd be looking for in my next sequencer. I wasn't much of a pitch sequence kind of guy but lately I have been, and i'm thinking ...

Re: Thicker sounding attack on kicks (techniques)

Glad I asked the question, some great answers in here.

And FWIW Soy Sos - I record from mixer into DAW, but my head doesn't work in such a way that I do edits etc. I realise the DAW is a very useful tool but hey ho it's just the way i am.

Gonna try these out tomorrow.

Cheers everyone :)

Thicker sounding attack on kicks (techniques)

Hello, anyone have any insight on how to do this? I hear so much music with such a nice attack on their kicks, whether it be an 808, 909, analog rytm, whatever. I guess these are all profession artists that do it as a living but would be good too know some techniques, tried compression it seems it o...

Cheers dubonaire - I have never seen a red light on my monitors before. Always been green or one or two times it's been a flashing green ( maybe this is the sign im overloading) Soo.. just to clarify.. to make sure i've understood this correctly. Quick "inverse-placement" tip for determining subwoofer placement: 1. Place the subwoofer in your listening position (yes, on a sturdy chair or similar object). 2. Play music with strong deep bass content. 3. Stand, kneel or crawl to various locations in the room and carefully listen to the quality...

Oh and as far as mixing goes.. I always double check through my laptop. Things generally sound amazing but again.. can never get the low end right. I then try it out in the car and the low end is booming far too much. When I EQ some away the sound is then left very thing and empty down below...

Yeah makes sense to me as well. I think the sub was a little overkill if i'm honest. It's not really 'pro' i'm looking for at this stage.. it's more to just get rid of the problems i'm having with my low end.. Maybe it's not even my room, maybe it's just me.. Do you think that making some Bass traps...

Cheers for the reply people. Yeah, I guess what Im trying to do is achieve the best sound possible. My room is literally just a bed and some music gear, it's a fairly large sized room with a huge bed and 2 tables, one for music gear and the other for when I want to have a mix. I've literally only go...

Nice. That seems like a well educated answer. Is your room treated too I take it? Would you say for getting your (bed)room treated well enough it takes a considerable amount of time and money? I thought that would be best for my monitors too.. I was under the impression sub and monitor system is the...

Cool - thanks for the reply. I'll try the switch out tomorrow when I next get some time. My room certainly isn't setup properly acoustically but I always thought I knew it well enough. My stereo width seems to be just fine it's just my low end that's the issue. I guess you wont have a sub 7 but shou...

Sub 7 setup. Am I doing it right?

Hi, looking for some insight here. Got myself Adam A3x's and sub7. Loving what I'm hearing but not entirely convinced it's setup right. I'll try my best to explain.. Got my crossover point set to 85hz on the sub and generally don't have the volume past a quarter of the way or else things start to ge...

Hi again, *sorry to post another* - finally got to the bottom on testing the voltages and everything has turned out with testing voltage. Could someone tell me how I go about measuring Pin 4 -> +12V +/- 0,5V Pin 11 -> -12V +/- 0,5V and MCP4922 IC, Pin 1 -> +5V +/- 0,2V Im so...

Hi:)

Cool, that's interesting to know about a mastering engineer. Thanks for that.

Just checked my settings on Ableton and they're all the same as yours apart from mines is at 24bit instead of 16. Hmm... my mind is boggled. has been for ages now lol.

No other recorder apart from my other desk which is a Soundcraft 12MTK but it's far worse on that. The conversion seemed to get better with the Midas which is what I hoped but it's just not the same as when im having a jam and record it in two seconds later ya know! I guess I could try the audacity ...
