My opinion is if I’m gonna give someone $400 they can listen to my polite request for a feature/update/debug

Re: ES-9 standalone summing?

You can put the Tesseract Sweet Sixteen before the ES-9 and use it as "mixer". Not sure about the VCMC. The Tesseract stuff looks cool but the documentation is pretty lacking so I've shied away thus far.... that's one thing i REALLY respect about expert sleepers, the manuals are super thorough and ...

Re: ES-9 standalone summing?

A lot of love for the Faderfox EC4 on here but has anyone done standalone control of ES-9 with something like the Befaco VCMC or Tesseract Sweet Sixteen? any limitations I'm missing? I don't have an ES-9 yet so not sure but was trying to keep everything inside the case....

Re: Expert Sleepers FH-2 'factotum'

Thanks a lot for the insight dude. Yeah, potential will make use of the cc control, not really sure what else in that regard... 3 note chords as in triggering 3 additional sound sources in your eurorack? I like the idea of being able to assign individual envelopes to each note in 4 voice mode - and...

Re: Expert Sleepers FH-2 'factotum'

sending midi back to the matriarch i didn't find super useful but the new matriarch firmware may have made things more interesting (might also be useful if you incorporate midi CCs into your sequencing?)... i usually use the fh-2 with matriarch for 3 note chords with velocity and/or aftertouch .... ...

Re: Expert Sleepers FH-2 'factotum'

Is the Matriarch a USB host or device? Either way it should be fine if it's using class compliant USB MIDI. Thanks a lot for your help. The Matriarch would be the device, sending its MIDI data over its USB to the FH2 for CV. That sound ok? As far as class compliant, I'm not sure how to distinguish ...

Hi everyone,

Can the FH-2 do both Midi to CV and CV to Midi?

I'd like the freedom of controlling my DAW with my eurorack and vis versa.

I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere after extensive searching.

Thanks!

Re: Expert Sleepers FH-2 'factotum'

The fh-2 is somewhat intuitive but has a small learning curve... the web utility makes clocks and midi really easy to set up.... it can do a TON of stuff (including everything you mentioned) so I would suggest taking a day to make a few presets so you can switch around what it does really fast... pl...

how is there not a cheap small analogue module that does this? :despair:

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX

Hey all, when using SD MULTISAMPLE is there a way to change the input mode to have NO pitch or gate inputs, i've checked the cv mappings and it doesn't seem like you can turn off the cv gate pair... Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX

One last thought, confirm you are sending and receiving on the same midi channel, in the disting it is under settings-midi/i2c-RX channel (single)

Then confirm ableton is sending On the same midi channel

So I saw there is an expansion header on the back (labeled gt-1 i think) and it got me thinking.... would it be possible to have an expander module for the drum9 mode where each drum's audio could be output separately? not sure if this is possible given the nature of the module/chip but would be REA...

It’s technically an LFO, but QPLFO does this. You can get a decent envelope shape out of it with a bit of tweaking.
The description of this makes it seem like you can’t use an external clock for this but if you dig into the manual you totally can! Great call! I had written this module off

I didn’t realize tides could also be used as an oscillator… Very intriguing
