Re: MakeNoise Morphagene

Hey guys.
New owner of Morphagene here, really like it.
My unit has an older firmware.
What do you consider to be the latest firmware that was stable and didnt have much problems? I see some reports here from the latest firmware, seems to be not the best?

Re:

also wondering why in operator A/B Follow mode the pitch knob's minimum is higher than in Free mode. clearly there's no problem getting the FM and phase distortion to work with high frequency spreads (e.g. 1/8, 16x, and extremes of Free mode). maybe to prevent the operator from "ignoring" pitches t...

Re: Instruo arbhar granular processor

Did anybody find how or if you can record chunks shorter than 10 seconds? I find with arbhar, i record some small sounds, with quite a bit silence in the buffer/recording. The module seems to have problems staying on the sounds in these situations, and often plays silence, even though spray is zero....

Re: SWN, Shapeshifter, which one first?

Shapeshifter is great, but less immediate than other oscillators. Can sound a bit harsh, and can contain some unwanted artifacts if not treated properly. But its a univers of alien language and otherwordly sounds. Wish they would include a possibility to bandlimit the sounds, for ultra smoothness. A...

Re: Instruo arbhar granular processor

I agree, this module sounds hifi, its great.
But the intensity knob is bullshit.
It would be infinitly more great to have one side smear grains like both sides seem to do now, and one side just fire grais in lesss rapid succession as you go ccw.
Just like clouds.

Re: Another Granular please help me decide thread

You're both welcome! I'm doing a granular Arbhar/Morphagene demo next weekend for the dc modular collective, so it's helpful gathering my thoughts. One more thing--the visual feedback on Arbhar is excellent, and supports the playability of the module. Morphagene has sequence of colors to represent ...

Another Granular please help me decide thread

Heres another one of those help me decide threads. I really like creeky cranky spooky door opening, gate-needs-oil, old rocking chair, metal churning submarine under 2000 feet kind of sounds - and just surfing around in that space manually or with modulation. So granular is great, i love granulator ...

the shapeshifter can't pull a 3-operator fm trick out of its otherwise deep hat, or allow you to detune the fm modulator after locking it to a frequency ratio. these kinds of things make the FM and audio-rate PD so three dimensional sounding on the HD MKIII. and just in wavetable stakes the PH MKII...

I agree, although i find the Shapeshifter can go to most of the places HD and PH goes, and is probably more comprehensive. Still, PH and HD are more immediate, and have more ice and death closer to the surface. They do beautyful very nice too :spin: Cyclebox II  Haha I still consider snaggin...

It would be handy of course - but the "soft pick up" for the sliders is more of an concern to me. Also I have some difficulties to memorize the preset save procedere without doing something wrong and don't make as much use of it as I want to. Only remedie for that is doing it over and over a few do...

Received it today. Wow, what a great filter. It really does feel different than other filters. I think this is my favorite resonance ever. Only problem with this is, it sounds so good and is so complex, it really lends to noodling forever. Difficult to finish tracks when there are so many options. C...

So you can have a lowpass + bandpass + a notch in one filter?

Can try, but first ill send my mastering guy some clips and see what he says. If he doesnt complain, then its no problem.
