Re: stereo mixer module comparison

I've decided on a WMD Performance Mixer. Anyone know if they're ever going back into production? Did they ever go out? Perfect Circuit got a batch a couple weeks ago and sold out in about a day. From what I’ve heard from WMD’s customer service is that they are all working steady, but slow due to, w...

Re: Removing Plate Nuts

So what about the knurled 1/8" jack nuts with the two small slots? I measure 7mm between the slots. A spanner bit should work, but the ones I have are too small, and I only see 6mm and 8mm online. I suppose I could modify a flathead screwdriver with my Dremel?

Re: Repeatability of patch

No way to recall a patch. Either sample looping elements into the Bitbox, or do an 8-track mix into the DAW. When I'm done, I pull everything out and start over. That's what I love about Eurorack. It's like a Zen garden. Once I finish a patch, I rake it away and start over.

Re: After Later Audio vs Mutable Instruments

I recently picked up Tall Dog uClouds and uRings. Solid modules, and relatively inexpensive, although only 8hp, so UI takes a minute to get used to. As mentioned, Mutable is open source, so clone manufacturers need to credit author, and if they modify code, must release it to the public. Tall Dog cr...

Re: Bipolar to unipolar conversion

I'd imagine you'd need a fixed value polarizer, which is kind of a waste to design (so much more useful with variable attenuation). That would get you your +10v. The above mentioned rectifier will get you close, but not fully there. It would only give you +5v, and would basically double the rate of ...

Re: Arturia Rackbrute power

Not sure that you could connect something with a 10 pin connector to the bus board, as it has the 6-pin connector to the board. I'm not sure what the additional 2 wires are for, as all that is needed is 3 voltages and a ground. Maybe there is some kind of active fault detection circuitry? You'd prob...

Re: Clock multiplier with a switch

MN horologic solum has a switch that changes all the clocks between different ratios. For example, one position outputs x2, x4, x8 which can be switched to x4, x16, x64.

Re: MIDI and Clocks in a small case

If you just need a clock divider for the Keystep, you could get a 4HP Doepfer A-160-2. If you need a small clock, Noise Engineering Horologic Solum is only 4HP and has clock division, plus you could add the 4HP Hologoric Uter for more clock divisions. Just note, the NE clock division outs are 50% du...

Re: Utility VCOs for FM, Sync, Ring Modulation, etc.

I have enough oscillators that I have spares for utility use, but your question leads to another question....what function/envelope generators do you use that can cycle at audio rate? Maths/Function, Quadra, Stages (particularly clocked externally), Tides are all function generators I own that can c...

Re: comparison of Ripples vs Polaris?

Ripples has a built in VCA. Polaris does a lot more as far as filter. I'm not sure that it lacks character, as much as it has an identity crisis, with all it's modes per filter type. The phaser is cool. And you can overdrive it. I use my Morgasmatron more often than either of them for straight up fi...

Re: Building a performance instrument - sequencers / random functions

If you're going to pack it with a bunch of 2HP and Pico, keep an eye on your power. I have 36 powered modules jammed into my Intellijel 7U and am pushing 1.85A on the +12v (the MN case maxes at 1A). I have a Rene 2, but much prefer the Mimetic Digitalis for cartisian type sequencing. I have a pair o...

Re: Modules with scale quantization: please let us decide, not you

That's not at all what I was asking for or suggesting. I'm talking about a design concept and provided some pretty practical rationale as to why I think it is better. The modules I listed are examples of what that could look like. I wish I wouldn't have done that because I think people are missing ...

Re: Master clock

If you have a clock source already (most sequencers, some random modules, or even a square wave oscillator), and you don't need clock rotation, have a look at the Doepfer A-160-2.

Re: Logic modules especially AND-Gates.

No one talks about toilet paper either, but everyone uses it.

I second the A-166. It has 3 inputs and can do simultaneous AND/OR/XOR. I also use logic in Kinks. And I have AND/OR logic in my Metron, and OR logic in Maths and Quadra expansion.

Re: Modules with scale quantization: please let us decide, not you

But in your case the scales are useless anyway, so it's mute. Definitely not going to satisfy everybody but you can satisfy everyone who wants to go direct to 1v/oct and use any scale in the entire equal tempered system. Not useless. I use the scales of my Voltage Block. Often add multiple quantize...

Re: Squarp Instruments Hermod Modular Brain

Has anyone else experienced double triggers at the start of a new sequence in Song Mode? Haven’t had that, no. Does it happen every time/track or what? It happens on sequences I've recorded from into the Hermod from Logic. The sequences are fine when played individually but as soon as they loop or ...

Re: Modules with scale quantization: please let us decide, not you

Without the ability to inject CV variation before the quantizer, I'd still need external adders and quantizers. Sure, it may make some modules a little more useful w/out a dedicated quantizer in some situations, but in my case, I am generally combining random and programmed sequences with an adders,...

If you want something that will be supported in 3 years, buy Intelijel. Buy Synthesis Technology. Buy ADE. Buy TipTop. The 1010music is literally 2.5 people and they can't seem to handle supporting products and fixing bugs as opposed to wild alternate firmwares that no one asked for. OP's post is n...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

Is it possible to have one of the trig inputs of bitbox fire off multiple sample pads? For example, I’d like to specify in each pad info where the trig is coming from, similar to how ext cv can be specified. The only advantage to this would be to not have to mult the same gate out and use 3 extra c...
