Re: Modules for transposing sequences

Just picked up a Quantum Pax which is a combination of buffered mults and unity mixers that allows for 4-part transposition from combinations of individual part and global CV.

Before getting the Pax I was using an Intellijel buff mult and a couple unity mixers.

Re: Qu-Bit Nebulae v2

What do you want to do that would need it to be synced to a standard clock? It’s syncable as is by sending a sequenced record on/off trigger and reset trigger.

Re: Using the ES-6 as standalone ADAT interface

They will input audio, as they are 48k lightpipe channels 7/8 of the ES-6. But as with the ES-6, there is DC offset which will show on your input meters. I believe this is a product of them being able to pass CV at all, where most audio interfaces filter DC on the way in. It does not effect audio, b...

Dang... okay thanks, I think I have a better idea of how these things connect. I really wanted to get 8 ADAT eurorack channels into my Apollo console while keeping the Apollo as the main device. That's unfortunate.
ES-3, ES-6 and ES-7 will get you 8 ins and 8 outs over Apollo ADAT i/o.

Re: Using the ES-6 as standalone ADAT interface

So if my understanding is correct your setup (Apollo x8p, ES-3, and ES-6) you have 8 ADAT outputs and 6 ADAT inputs. And you are running the ES interfaces adat only (not aggregated devices or any of that) So, if I were to get an ES-8, and ES-6, and run ADAT in/out to the Apollo x6, I should theoret...

Re: Using the ES-6 as standalone ADAT interface

No go with a Twin, which does not have ADAT out. I run an ES-3/ES-6 w/ Apollo x8p which has ADAT i/o. The ES-6 does not have a clock. The ES-3 derives clock from ADAT out of your audio interface, and the ES-6 derives clock from the ES-3 so essentially the ES-6 is clocked to your interface's ADAT out...

Re: Silent Way GUI not visible in LUNA

I have USAMO working in LUNA. I am using USAMO to sync Ableton LIVE to LUNA and running SW and MIDI synths in LIVE. Obviously, USAMO requires a MONO track to run. I don't think it even shows up as an option on a stereo track. I just opened a project w/ USAMO and it is a little more temperamental tha...

Re: USAMO

I have it working great in Ableton, coming out of an Aphex 141B balanced +4 line out. Did you do the TEST procedure to a MIDI input and set the level properly? The only thing I had to adjust was to lower the ADJUST>LEVEL setting on the USAMO plugin....I have it at 0.250 with the physical knob on the...

Re: WMD Metron sequencer

Anyone successfully controlling Metron scenes on the Select bus? What MIDI does Metron respond to as a Select bus slave? I'm trying to get it to respond to an ES Select Bus Breakout. I have Select bus direction to "in" and have tried sending bank and program changes on channel 1, but no go. I can us...

Re: Select bus breakout

So it seems when RENE is hooked up to the bus, even in select bus FOLLOW or FREE mode, the Tempi stops responding. Perhaps as you said, it's a load issue on the ES output that requires a resistor change. But really, Rene isn't something I need to control via MIDI program change, as it is simple enou...

Thanks OZ....your confirmation that is should work gave me the motivation to try again this AM. I got it to work with the TEMPI sending patches from my Prophet (which can easily send bank/program changes that conform to MIDI standard, so the module itself is working. Will keep working on the other m...

You restarted after dropping the AU plugin in your library>audio>plugins>component folder? I believe AU plugins are registered at startup.

So the jumper is in place, as it should be for MIDI in use. I tried something very simple....a MIDI pedal that sends control changes to Channel 1....confirmed working with a HW synth. I just bought a pair of these that have already been assembled. I cannot get anything on the select bus to respond. After the firmware update, my Metron still says v1.31 in the global settings - maybe a small cosmetic bug?

1.4 reported in global here. Added Axxent and Time Warp to the Metron and Volteras. 32 gates and 24 CV from Metron.

Re: SW Voice Controller outputs: routing to 3 different ESX devices?

What DAW? In LIVE, for routing from multiple SW VCs each to an ESX-8CV output, you need to use the ESX-8CV combiner, then use AUX channels to route CV to the combiner. Each combiner can route to a single EXS-8CV. You may be able to stack combiners, but I've never done it. I do have a LIVE project wi...

Re: USAMO questions

Both the P6 and OB6 have capability to receive Clock over 5-PIN and note data over USB simultaneously. You could run the USAMO to a splitter into P6 and OB6 DIN for clock, then run USB from Linnstrument to Logic, then USB from Logic to the synths.

Re: Expert Sleepers ES8 / Logic X

Didn’t realize you were using Apollo. I use an ES-3/5 with Apollo over ADAT. Apollo doesn’t support aggregate devices, but that’s not to say it shouldn’t work. But pretty sure you need software monitoring on to hear it unless there is some monitoring app with ES-8 that allows for direct monitoring. ...

Re: Voltage Block / Varigate combo?

Voltage Block pairs well with A-185-2 Adder. Send a 16th not sequence, then modulate with whole note, half note, etc. clock divided sequences from the VB to get complex sequences up to 256 steps. I'll usually use 2 or 3 VB channels for notes, then use the others for controlling CV. With the clock di...

Re: Voltage Block / Varigate combo?

The only things VG8 adds to VB is syncing save/recall and CVBUS clock/reset. I use the VG8's two CV sequences first, as I can more easily program specific scales, and I like the link feature which only progresses the CV sequence when a gate hits, so when using probability, the melody changes. As a s...

Compact multi channel slew limiter?

Looking for 4 or more channels of slew in as little space as possible. Doepfer is 2 channels in 8HP. Pulp Logic tiles are small and cheap, but I don't have a PL 1U case. Stages would be 6 channels in 14HP, but at $350, a little overkill just for slew duties.

Any recommendations?

Re: any footswitchs for manual Gate/trigger?

I use the A177 w/ a Roland FS-7, which allows for control of each gate out, and you can choose latched/unlatched globally for both pedals. The FS-6 is larger, but allows each switch to be set individually.
