When testing and matching vactrols, should response times be measured, in addition to current/resistance curves?

Re: Vortex Generator Build Thread

I don’t have Plaits, but I used a Behringer Model D. Everything works, and it’s an amazing device. So simple, yet very powerful. I built a Benjolin recently. Playing Vortex Generator is similar fun. Overall, I have few criticisms of this gadget: -The big holes for the pots were a little too tight fo...

Re: Vortex Generator Build Thread

Completed assembly.

From what I can see, everything is working. Lights flash, rise and fall knobs work as expected.

Now I need to learn how to use it.

Yes, the boards arrived today. Beautiful.

What is the meaning of the small numbers on the panel?

Re: 208p build thread (papz's PCBs)

Will the 208p board set fit correctly with a genuine BEMI 208 panel? I just noticed a panel on eBay, and I've been getting prepared to order boards.

Re: Share your arduino based projects!

How much does Oracolo weigh? Sorry I don't know! I never weighed it, but I think it will weigh about half a kilo It is painted wood. ;) I was hoping it would be a rusty old cast iron step from some ancient steelwork - for, you know, a step sequencer. It looked like steel or cast iron! I thought it ...

Re: Inconsistent Transistor Matching Results

I think you’re mis-reading the original post. He mentions 100.1K and 100.2K. (110,1K and 100,2K for Europeans). If I’m not mis-reading, these are within 0.1% of each other. If these measurements are repeatable, those resistors are very close.

Re: Dual, High-Speed Flip-Flop - Interest?

The outer foil thing applies to NON-electrolytic caps used for interstage coupling. For best noise performance, the outer foil should be connected to whichever side has lower impedance. I've never seen electrolytics used as interstage coupling caps, but I've only deeply studied guitar amps (except i...

Re: Has anyone here ever used a programmable logic controller ( PLC ) with their modular?

Well, you can mostly stay away from the more confusing C++ stuff, and just do C.
The exception is that most Arduino libraries are implemented as C++ classes, but that’s generally not as confusing as runaway multiple inheritance polymorphic templates and overloaded operators.

Re: Has anyone here ever used a programmable logic controller ( PLC ) with their modular?

Yes, that's exactly why you see so many projects using Arduino. Arduino is programmed in C++, using the Arduino IDE (integrated development environment). The hardware itself can be programmed using many languages, but the Arduino IDE is all about C++. Arduino has grown way beyond its original setup,...

The Linnstrument is intended for polyphonic use - and the 208c isn't very polyphonic.

Have you considered an Arturia Keystep? A Sensel Morph?
