Re: Rack Rash

I was astonished to discover that rack rash doesn't bother me at all. But I would never consider buying other music hardware with that level of cosmetic damage. I mean, considering the total surface area of the average front panel we are talking about significant blemishes aren't we? I suppose it's ...

More JM synth action. Not a fan of live recordings but - Shadows and Light mostly acapella bar Lyle Mays massaging an Oberheim - just so damn good :guinness:

Re: "Get lost in the sounds of YouTube’s growing ambient modular synth community"

There are some fantastic posts on this thread from people of all points of view, it seems to have pulled out of its nosedive into the abyss at least. I continue to be astonished though, that highly intelligent (not sarcasm) members of this forum either don't understand/cannot or won't acknowledge th...

Re: Help Me Get Into Modular or Talk Me out of It

VCV rack is the least fun I have ever had in my life, so if you give it a try and actually happen to hate it, I wouldn't necessarily let that put you off going full modular. I acknowledge that VCV rack is incredibly useful and the majority seem to love it, but just saying. :)

Re: Who prefers the workflow of modular drum setups?

If you've been using music gear for any significant amount of time it's all pretty much the same tools in a few mildly divergent configurations. Learning a system that was designed by a group of industry professionals and generally follows 30+ year old conventions seems a lot quicker than planning,...

Re: Moog Mother 32/Subharmonican/DFAM, as the center pieces of a Eurorack?

I've got a DFAM which I love and I'm interested in the Subharmonicom although like luketeaford I'm not convinced it is quite worth the money. As somebody who has made the transition from standard hardware synths and semi modular to modular in the past 12 months or so, I absolutely could not recommen...

Re: Slavic viking schlager

However, this is a gear crazed forum and it is 1000% more likely that anyone will care to have a listen if they know what gadgets was used in the making of the track. I've come to accept this fact for what it is. Yes, that is quite apparent and I wasn't criticising you for mentioning it, you've got...

Re: Moogfest Sub-Harmonicon - What Is It?

$699? well, it´s a bit on the expensive side for me...I expected something in the $500-600 range I was curious before, but now I don´t think it would add a lot for my music making...I can see me just jamming and procrastinating a lot with this thing without using it in anything musical I agree, I'm...

Re: Slavic viking schlager

Very polished. I love the voice that comes in at 1:45 and I love the melodic bit at the end. That is a fair old contrast between those serene melodies and those concussive drums, they are almost like blast beats. On a side note, from a synthesis point of view Its impressive that the drums are part o...

Re: What’s the difference between Bon Iver and Oneohtrix Point Never?

Never been a huge fan of either. IMO Bon Iver's songs were generally not quite good enough on his debut, his ST album was an improvement on all fronts but his new "experimental" stuff is pretty dreadful. I think it must be his last roll of the dice. OPN has done some really nice stuff but once he si...

Very nice. If you start watching the wet video and then start the dry video about 24 seconds later, you get the best of both worlds. It took me a couple of attempts to get them in time though :)

In line attenuators?? I don’t think I’ve seen those - only mults. Who makes them? I know Ryo used to do them, I have seen them for sale on this very forum. Re: Xaoc expander question

That’s a nice clear way of putting it. I’m leaning towards the expander for Zadar, like you said; the manual trigs are nice as well. If I could do anything with 3hp for an expander, it would be to put attenuators on all of Batumi’s outputs. Get yourself some in-line attenuators, no sense in wasting...

Re: Need advice: Is this idea a waste of money? :)

Do you guys think getting Branches is still a good idea if I get Marbles? Branches is so small and cheap, I think it would still be worth it. And you could fit branches and something like NE Variatic Erumption into the 16 hp gap Grids will leave behind, assuming Marbles is going into your main case...
