Re: "Antivocoder": does it exist ? ( a spectral "ducking" device ;) )

Although not directly responding to various modulator content, I think the effect on the signal would be similar to band limited comb filtering. Which led me to this thing, which I want now either way. Maybe a different, fun rabbit hole to go down https://www.meldaproduction.com/MCombMB

Re: SSL Six. New small format mixing desk

Thanks! Picked up the SiX and now to wrap my head around how the summing works. Wonder if there’s an area where people have posted their workflow... Congrats! I have 4/8 of the inputs and and 6/10 of the outputs on my interface hardwired to the Six, the rest through the patchbay for flexible routin...

Re: Best first SMD build?

O+C and 0805 in general isn’t bad. Just take your practice boards seriously- lay out your workspace just like it was the real thing. I approached learning SMD as if my lackluster organizational skills would be fine and I just needed to develop tiny parts skills. Having done builds with a dozen diffe...

Re: Picking out my third sequencer.

There are a lot of ways Rene can fit into your track and it can be deeply playable. Turning steps on and off and reordering them to reconstruct melodies is an experience that’s someplace between performing on an arpeggiator and slicing loops. If you get it set up and jam on it for a while, you can p...

Re: The Eurorack Bashers

The second biggest use of the internet is complaining. Doesn’t matter what it is or how little it’s hurting anyone. In the most basic sense, euro is hundreds of competing manufacturers agreeing to make complimentary products that work together in the same enclosures with the same power supplies and ...

Re: Large components = fat sound?

It wouldn’t be audio without some snake oil salesmen. You will find very large transformers and tubes hanging off the back of some high end studio gear like the Manley Massive Passive, Retro Sta-Level, etc $2-3,000 per channel stuff. It would be very impractical, but a good tech/maker could put some...

Re: Presonus Audio Interface Owners / Quantum 2626 Owners

My Quantum(1?) has been running stable on Windows 10 for ~2 years. Maybe 4 or 5 times it has stopped outputting normally and a quick reboot of everything corrected it. So as good of an experience as I’ve ever had with any peripheral on Windows. Install involved a PCIe Thunderbolt expansion card from...

Could be they’re trying to implement all of this round of media/influencer feature requests and bug fixes before committing to a form of a CPU hungry feature like reverb.

Re: We just launched the kickstarter for Timetosser!

Super cool. This kind of functionality was definitely a factor for me when thinking about purchasing a Deluge, an OP-Z, and a BSP. Is it safe to assume based on the plugin that there is fairly comprehensive MIDI control of the functions?

Re: SSL Six. New small format mixing desk

Debating picking one up, but i’ve already got a Portico 5017. Different enough to justify, or would the pres and funcionalidad be worth it to replace with the SiX? The pres are nice but not showstoppers next to the Portico or other boutique pres. Depending on taste, it’s probably a sideways move. I...

Filter out the things each track doesn’t need to give each track it’s own space. Hobbyist or not, you’re already experimenting with more advanced mixing techniques; those are the basics. Think of the stereo field as a small space to squeeze all of your tracks into because it is. Find a small frequen...

Re: Help Me Get Into Modular or Talk Me out of It

I’m with electricfence- the 0-Coast isn’t everything, but it’s a pretty amazing set of functions and gateway into euro. If you put it through the example patches, several hours of aimless experimentation, and were able to let it go, this feeling may well be GASing. I couldn’t put it down that first ...

Re: DC Coupled Interfaces

I’ve using the original Quantum for about 2 years and it has been solid in Windows 10 with Ableton. Maybe a handful of hiccups per year, quickly solved by just restarting everything. I’ve sent lots of CV through the outputs, works just as it should. The main line outputs are dedicated, unlike most 8...

Re: Dumb question regarding Elekton Model:Samples

Not a dumb question at all. Sync outputs can be as hot as 5v, enough to damage most MIDI inputs if you hooked them up with an adapter. Something like the Korg SQ-1 can clock both or bridge analog sync to MIDI.
