I can't think of any reasons why that might be a problem. Go for it.

Re: Put your Album Release into this Thread!

After years of playing in bands I got into modular stuff last year. So this is my first release with electronic music or whatever.

Re: 4MS RCD issue

It looks like the trigger/gate jumper is set to gate. I'm pretty sure my RCD does the same thing when it's set to gate output without an input. Set the jumper to trigger and see if it changes.

Re: Pittsburg Modular Lifeforms SV-1b and Korg SQ-1?

1) Maybe you changed the midi-channel by accident. Read the manual for the midi section again. 2) Did you try the line output, too? If you didn't patch anything and don't receive midi signals you won't hear anything. You need some kind of gate or trigger to fire the ADSR which controls the VCA. Try ...

Re: Stock or Hemisphere Suite for my New Ornament and Crime Module?

I build an OCP a few months ago with the stock firmware. I always wanted to try Hemisphere but I didn't even check out half the stock apps yet. I do like the ASR, quad evnelopes and quadrature LFO apps so far.

Re: DIY or not DIY?

1 Yeah, I build some of my stuff. I started building pedals some years ago and got into synth stuff last year. 2 I usually enjoy the building process. I'm learning a lot about electronics and audio. It may save some money, too. 3 I'm not to confident with my skills/tools, so SMD is a no go so far. S...

Re: Dannysound EN129 Thru-Zero Oscillator

My understanding was that the pitch stays kind of stable when you use modulation at audio rate. So I guess my module will behave like yours. I didn't really use it much yet, so I can't really tell.

I'll definitely try to amplify the modulator.

Re: Most rectifiers per hp?

Came to also recommend the CFM module, but now I'm curious about how you're using them -- any cool rectifier tricks to share? I guess you know the DivKid video for this module? Apart from that I always wanted to try to patch a pseudo wavefolder by applying positive offset to a wave and invert the n...

Re: Ornament & Crime Plus ?

I got an OCP kit only days before Thonk closed and finished it yesterday. I was interested in an o_c for some time now, but never wanted to go for the original SMT version. Now I only need to figure out what awesome stuff I can do with it. There seems to be a little issue with the kits from Thonk th...

I followed OPs instruction and build this today, but only have a 12V 1A DC wall wart at home. I try to power a Pittsburgh Modular SV-1 with it. When I first connect the SV-1 to the board and then plug in the wall wart nothing happens, but the -12V board get's hot in no time. When I first connect th...

What's odd about Make Noise? The Make Noise of pedals for me would be EarthQuaker.

Whatever module I get I put in randomly or where it fits HP wise. Not ideal, but i didn't even fill a 6U case yet so it's ok.

Re: Bastl Instruments Quattro Figaro

it will work if you replace the fuses with jumpers or at 10 ohm resistors. Are you sure they're missing tho? they might look almost like capacitors Yeah I did use 10R resistors in the end. And yes, the fuses are missing. I had 2 additional 100n caps in my kit tho. I guess they got mixed up when the...

Re: What's wrong with this schematic?

Thanks guys, you're right. I mixed things up. Tri and sine are out of phase on my VCO. When I invert one it works just fine.

I know the output won't be perfect on a passive circuit. I can live with that.

What's wrong with this schematic?

So there's this neat little passive module called CFM BHWR which could do two things: - splitting a signal into it's positive and negative parts - combine the positive and negative parts from two signals as a new one A demo video could be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuFjYCd-yf8 There...

Re: Replacing PTC fuses with...?

I'll try my best not to. There are polarity protection diodes anyway, so it wouldn't be that bad if I did, right? My understanding was that diodes are for polarity protection and PTC fuses avoid damage from shorting the circuit. Am I wrong?

Re: Replacing PTC fuses with...?

Thanks. Sure I can contact them, but if I can substitute parts easily that's totally fine for me. It's not a NOS Vactrol, expensive IC or whatever, so I'll just go for the resistors (which I have a few left from other projects anyway).

Replacing PTC fuses with...?

I bought a Bastl Quattro Figaro kit some time ago and started building it the other day. BOM, schematic etc. can be found here: https://bastl-instruments.com/eurorack/modules/quattro-figaro#diy Both 100mA PTC fuses are missing in my kit. Does anyone know if I can omit or replace them with 10R resist...
