Re: Novation Circuit Mono Station
It seems it has been kind of a failure for novation; in my opinion biggest mistake was removing the acid filter, could have become a modern MC-202.

Re: Synth with best* internal sequencing?
Why not a digitakt (sampler)or digitone( FM)? Can be found for around 500€ second hand...their sequencing is powerful enough to be the brain on any live set

Re: Windows PC DAW alternative to Ableton
Either your Windows is corrupted or there are some hardware issues...if the blue screen you are getting is the old BSD I would say it has to do with the hardware.. Live sometimes crashes but from time to time..no way it does it every 10min on a healthy system And I am running it on an old i7 3770k s...

I would take a good shape Rodec mixer over any A&H and such, no matter how many extra feautures those may have.

Re: Secondhand Synth or not.
Newer synths can be bought second hand with little use and still under warranty. Most of my eurorack modukes are second hand.
I would think twice about buying a 40 years old synth unless you can allow some budget for repairs....which some may need

Re: 0-10V output vs. -5/+5 output
Feeding 10V to an input expecting 5V or less shouldn't fry anything, generally you'll just get the same result with anything over 5V that you would with 5V. I say "shouldn't", that's assuming the module is properly designed and is functioning properly. Same with feeding negative voltage to an input...

Re: MOTU Ultralite [mk4/AVB] vs. Presonus 1824c with eurorack
Look for a non C 1810, should be cheaper and hatware wise are the same. 1810C has type C input but works at usb2.0 speeds The only problem on the 1810 regarding modular is it only has ADAT in, no out. I wanted to add a expert sleepers ES-6 for 6 dc coupled ins plus the 4 outs on the 1810 was more th...

Re: Avoid Mac Mini 2018/20 if using Ableton!
Well, the procesdor seems to be a 6core i5 8500b, which should not fare bad. Cpubenchmark changed the way they review cpus, according to them is more poerwfull than the i7 3770k I still own...but for how long? In small systems termal throttling is an issue. My computer is 7 years old but the i7 is O...

One can always cut a hole and add one or two ventilation plates in the case, I do not see the problem. Also my case is DIY and has some small 1 or 2 mm gaps between rails and case. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/ZT1xFHHes3o3F5k6fFXkTei-AUA5gVk2FLKbzXLcrJtSQ4GFh1W0EF2t-e8hvIhBzGaMRsyeByUI7YY...

For DFAM I recommend MI Peaks (2× reset lfos perfect for drums) and Mutant Brain if you want it to talk to a daw or play it via midi. For utilities I recommend MI kinks and links, you will get a lot of features in little space. Good thing about MI is there are lots of second hand oportunities. I als...

Re: Recommend your weirdest craziest FX machine ever
actually - i havent tried the MT-2 on synths - i have heard its damn good :P A user of MT2 from the early 90's, was the standard for the grindcore/metal comunity; together with the boss PQ4 was as close as you could get on a budget to sounding like more expensive metal guitar rigs. Most Boss pedals...

A 9U104HP or even a 9U84HP system with the 3 moogs plus some modules could be a beautiful beast. For a beguiner just a disting is more than enough, I recommend some utilities like kinks and links and a vca like veils.

Re: Tiny mixer for a tiny set-up
I just bought the Q802USB version, wanted something for jamming without having to pay eurorack prices. The two mono channels will be used with DFAM and 0-Coast as they have gain control and even one knob compressor, the two stereo ones with volca drum and return FX (with EQ) from MS70CDR. I can also...

MI Kinks and Links can be found quite cheap second hand ( around 50$/€ each) and offer lots of functionality for the price in 4hp

Re: How to send mixer aux to guitar pedals and back to the mixer?
At the end I went back to the presonus studio 1810 and use ableton external audio effects to make three return tracks with my pedals. Use the spdif in/out via cheap amazon converters ( less than 40€ for both) with the Zoom MS70CDR and two analog outputs go to the boss MT-2/GE-7 and Boss SD-2/Artec S...
